Uh, dps, a Democratic President sent us to Nam, a Democratic President escalated the war there (meanwhile trying to convince the American people that he was doing just the opposite), but a Republican was in office when we finally got out. So, you might be slightly mistaken.

You are confusing liberal with democrat. Ending the war in Viet Nam was always a liberal idea. Starting and continuing the war was a conservative, pro business (oil, tin, rubber) idea.

Speaking of LBJ, I got a great idea for Bush, the Republican party, our Nation, and the World. Total win win win win situation.

Like LBJ, Bush outa announce he will not seek reelection because of his LBJ-in-Vietnam-like debacle. The republicans quickly tap McCain, who even with a write-in vote would trash Kerry by a landslide.

Bush got what he wanted done (revenged his Dad) and gets out of the limelight before he is thoroughly discredited and disgraced. The GOP retains hold the presidency (the pro-lifers will rejoice). Our nation and the world benefit by having a reasonable administration in office which is infinitely more likely to steer us out of the storm into which BushCo has dumped us.

Great idea, no? hahaha.gif

Actually, starting and continuing the war was based on Harry S. Truman's pledge to be the "anti-Communist Policeman to the World." And, since the advent of the Kennedy family (heretofore known as "the global family of Satan's spawn") in politics "liberal" has been synonymous with "Democrat."

Never happen, but it's a fine idea. I might even vote for McCain.
