fern Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 Â I will be up there Saturday anyways. I already have a partner but don't mind orphans tagging along if it is actually dry enough to climb - as long as they are not gaper slowpokes . SmokeBluffaneering only. I will ropegun in return for cheese sandwiches. Quote
Dru Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 hey americans dont forget to bring your tents to squamish so we can burn them down after we gang up on you Quote
foraker Posted May 21, 2004 Author Posted May 21, 2004 seems like everywhere is getting rain this weekend...leavenworth....smith....unless the forecasts are all crap. Quote
foraker Posted May 21, 2004 Author Posted May 21, 2004 sounds like everyone's going to be sitting around the coffeeshop/pub watching the rain come down.... Reminds me of Mt. Cook National Park Quote
Dru Posted May 21, 2004 Posted May 21, 2004 climbing in the rain and drying out at snoboy's afterwards Quote
foraker Posted May 26, 2004 Author Posted May 26, 2004 So is it pointless of me to ask if anyone's going and needs someone? I'm beginning to think about asking for my $20 back. I didn't sign up to read trip reports and read Spray. Quote
thelawgoddess Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 foraker, it's pointless of you to ask if it's pointless. if you really want to go, just go - partner or no. (it is often possible to find partners here if you're really keen to climb ... but you might want to bring your soloing setup and/or bouldering pad just in case.) Â also, the forecast is not pure science and spring is a volatile time of the year. last weekend it rained friday night and then produced three days of beautiful climbing weather. Quote
RuMR Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 totally agree w/ TLG here...pointless to make a decision until literally the afternoon you are leaving... Â Sunday rocked this last weekend in spite of the forecast!!! Quote
Paco Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 I'm watching the weather, but I'll probably still make the trip up for the long weekend. I feel the need for some Squamish granite crack goodness. And hell, the french toast at Toaster's is that good! Quote
EWolfe Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 And hell, the french toast at Toaster's is that good! Â That's news to me! Quote
Rocksanyone Posted May 26, 2004 Posted May 26, 2004 And hell, the french toast at Toaster's is that good! Â That's news to me! Oh yes and you'll feel it all day in your gut Quote
chelle Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 So who's heading to Squish for Memorial day w/e? We should have a pub club somewhere in town on Sat. night if people are interested. There may be some b-day boys in town. Quote
foraker Posted May 27, 2004 Author Posted May 27, 2004 i may be there, i may not. i guess i'll be making that decision the night before and hoping for the best. Quote
Dru Posted May 27, 2004 Posted May 27, 2004 you may see a strange man covered in dirt and lichen. or, maybe not! Quote
