Do you think the "perpetrators" have a big pool of victims that they get to sort through and choose only the juciest to slaughter? I don't.

If being Jewish was a reason for those guys to kill him particularly, I would think that their statement in the video would have emphasized this bit of information.

I think they just hate Americans, period.

And of course, freedom. They hate freedom. Can't stand freedom. wave.gif

Oh, I completely agree that the fact that he is Jewish didn't have anything to do with him being the one who got murdered, but it still would have been worth point out, I believe.

A number of people have been kidnapped without getting their heads hacked off. It occurred to me when I first heard it that he may have been singled out due to the passport stamp...Hell, it apparently landed him in jail as a suspected spy didn't it? Maybe it didn't...I dunno.

PP asked if anyone noticed it and thought it was newsworthy, and I said yes. Sorry if you think that's dumb reasoning, Chuck. Maybe you'd make a better detective than me.

How can someone be so foolish as to travel in war-torn Iraq with a passport that shows that he traveled to Israel and then intend to do business in Iraq with no protection?

There are questionable details in the story surrounding his capture and execution. No question a headless body was found but something is not quite right here. E.g., this news report says that Berg was traveling alone without documentation (source-- http://www.news24.com/News24/World/Iraq/0,,2-10-1460_1526618,00.html ). Also, he disappeared sometime around April 9 or 10, about the time when the truck convoys were attacked.

The voice on the beheading video may have been dubbed onto the video, which was filmed sometime prior to its scheduled release last week.

Also, check this story-- Bizarre New Link In Berg Murder--CBS News

It's becoming hard to separate fact from fiction, psyops from reality.

Wow...just read that CBS story. Statistically it sounds improbable. A young guy's password turns up in Moussaoui's hands in 2001. Then this young guy shows up in Mosul, looking for an in-law. His behavior appears so risky that he is told to go home by US officials and even offered a flight home. Then a month later another prominent terrorist kills him. He is either the poster child for bad outcomes due to bad decisions, or there is more to the story.

Mosul Police Chief Denies Detaining Slain American Nicholas Berg

In Baghdad, U.S. officials said Iraqi police arrested Berg in Mosul on March 24 because local authorities believed he may have been involved in "suspicious activities." He would not elaborate but insisted American authorities had not held Berg although the FBI visited him three times before he was released April 6.

However, police chief Maj. Gen. Mohammed Khair al-Barhawi told reporters Thursday that his department had never arrested Berg.

"The Iraqi police never arrested the slain American," he said. "Take it from me ... that such reports are baseless."

Despite the police chief's statement, a U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Berg was detained by Iraqi authorities "for his own protection" because his behavior in Mosul seemed unusual for a westerner.

He (Berg)had been seen traveling in taxis and moving about the dangerous city without any escort, the official said. He added that Berg, who was Jewish, had written materials which were "anti-Semitic" in tone, the official said without elaborating.
