southernmtguide
Talk with Dave Anderson before commiting alot of time and effort here. He says the rock was incredibly bad. FWIW.
Farrgo
Ya, I also had the pleasure of talking with Dave when he did a show up in B'ham earlier this year. The rock is supposed to be insanely bad to the tune of multiple 40+foot falls while aiding as well as many many shorter ones. Too bad the scenery is incredible. jordop
Now if I could only figure out where this one is . . . anybody know? See attach : "Scenic alpine campsite. Some loose rock. No Crowds. Stemalot
hum...there's got to be some good rock around there... perhaps another expedition... or maybe wait until fall or early winter to do some ice climbing.
Dru
Sean's photo looks like limestone or quartzite, maybe a strongly foliated gneiss.
layton
or is saying the rock sucks a smart way to keep everyone away from this area. i'd do some more research from non-climbers to verify this.
