Fejas Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 The move where he swings his foot up over his hands and wedges it in the crack is WICKED SICK!!! Quote
slothrop Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Proof that you don't have to be sport climbing to hangdog the shit out of something. (Hi Dwayner!) Â Awesome climb, though! Those moves around the roof: Quote
LinHiNun Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 -- SAVAGE! -- Â But is it really "trad" when your pro is pre-placed? Quote
Distel32 Posted March 10, 2004 Author Posted March 10, 2004 -- SAVAGE! -- Â But is it really "trad" when your pro is pre-placed? Â fuck yeah! When it is like 5.14 or so IMHO it is acceptable. Quote
LinHiNun Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 The moves are no different than clipping bolts. Since when are hard climbs suddenly "trad" climbs just beacuse they are hard? Quote
whirlwind Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 (edited) awsome climb, technical it is trad, but it hasn't been freeed yet its still a project. trad = tradditional= no fixed gear on route( or very little), plus he top roped the first 20 or so feet. he is definatly a good climber, but that route hasn't been "freed" by him  Edited March 10, 2004 by wirlwind Quote
whirlwind Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 definaltly not freed lol i didn't see the falls. takes forever and a day to download Quote
SmokeShow Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 That French rap is straight dope. Really feels fresh from the hood, authentic street style The only thing I picked up in the lyrics was merde, merde... Â Quote
ken4ord Posted March 10, 2004 Posted March 10, 2004 Freakin' rad. Who cares about hangdogging, pre-placed, and all that shit. Anybody on here who sprays shit about it on here probably can't climb it. Â Anybody familar with the music that is being played, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on that CD? Good song, just wished it kept playing throughout the video. Quote
Distel32 Posted March 11, 2004 Author Posted March 11, 2004 yeah, I think that frenchy rap is bad ass, as is the climb! Â Makes me want to get groovy with some roof cracks Quote
EWolfe Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 It is interesting to note here that there is no difference in redpoint and pinkpoint these days when it comes to hard trad. If a climb is done placing all gear on lead, it is an addendum, rather than the standard. A serious crack in the foundation of pure climbing, IMHO. Â Amazing climbing though! Quote
Distel32 Posted March 11, 2004 Author Posted March 11, 2004 sometimes a little grunt or scream helps man! Â ask Texplorer or TimL, we talked about it at smiff Quote
cracked Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 A 'little' scream, but screaming for several seconds doesn't do anything but express frustration. Quote
jonah Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 Not to be a dick, but don't you guys think it's a little odd to be ragging on this guy's style of ascent? The way you say "well, it's not REALLY trad" makes you sound as if you're suggesting that if YOU were to do it, you would place all the gear. Newsflash: you're not gonna do it in any style, preplaced gear or otherwise! Ever!! So why try to bring down the accomplishment of someone who did? Quote

No ya putz. the video started out TRAD and it really wasn't trad. I don't care two shits, but it aint trad. It is sport climbing. What is the difference? Dis moi. Merde. Quote

Clip Natural protection.  End of basic climbing lesson. Quote
ken4ord Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 Jonah. It so funny how people get about others style. Quote
Gender_Bender Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 yeah but if the gear is already there.... just like the bolts are in sport climbing then what is the difference. If you talk to trad climbers they are always like " yeah well you get really pumped putting in the gear and shit" The gear is there already in this guys climb, all he has to do is clip it. THeres no difference. Quote
Gender_Bender Posted March 11, 2004 Posted March 11, 2004 ANd jonah yeah its hard but the guy didnt really do it. Shit i can climb v10 in 2 or 3 pieces but nobody gives me props. So yeah you are a dick. Quote
