Ade Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 You need to spend like six hours wading and thrashing in to some pointless objective and then turn around and ski out crashing in to several trees on the way. It isn't going to help your climbing but it will make the following weekend on the couch seem like a good idea. Quote
Alex Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 I think both Ade and I agreed yesterday during idle conversation that the Spring will also sux with Washington Pass all but inaccessible (except to you Mazama locals, yo!)for Spring weekend trips. Quote
sk Posted February 11, 2004 Posted February 11, 2004 I have to agree. winter does suck. sure skiing is great when I can go. I miss climbing... I want spring Quote

On a side note, how them K2's with the tele bindings workin out for ya? Ya try riding switch on em? I always thought that would be rediculously hard, but have seen it done.... Quote
thelawgoddess Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 they're working out fine. both the boots and the sticks are a bit stiff to learn on, but i'm getting there. i can "rip" the groomers, but i still got a ways to go on the bumps and the off-piste deep. the pe's are really an amazing ski on and off piste and in and out of the park - yum! (only wish i had alpine bindings on them many a time.) i can ride switch a little, but i can't do it for long or i bite it. well, i bite it pretty often trying to get from switch back to normal anyway! steering switch with floppy heels is rather ... um ... difficult. my favorite's the half-pipe, though. can you come down here and teach me how to ride it proper? layton Posted February 13, 2004 Author Posted February 13, 2004 well no one's hardly climbed shit in the cascades this winter worth mentioning. too warm and snowy. ALTHOUGH, the gorge ice does add points to this winter's charm. Anyone who is an alpinist will agree that this winter sux condtions-wise in the cascades. Quote
