Titus_Canby Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Ryland Moore said this a while back: "There is also some ice in the canyons around Burns, that I am told, forms every single year." Is this true? Quote
kurthicks Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 i've heard the same. no one seems to know any more about it. i know some people who know people in the area. i'll see what i can dig up. but the real question is...why in the hell do you want to go out there anyways? Quote
rbw1966 Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 To showcase the gunrack on his ATV of course. Quote
gapertimmy Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 I hear if you are looking to concieve a child, especially if your female partner is very young, Burns is a good place to try. I'm curious, what canyons? Along 395 north of town? I try to not spend too much time out there, just enough to check on the portable meth labs. Quote
ryland_moore Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 The head of the Crux climbing gym in Eugene said he has climbed ice out there. I will ask him for more specifics. Could be a good side trip if going to ski in the STeens! Quote
lummox Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 The head of the Crux climbing gym in Eugene said he has climbed ice out there. stoners dont know nothing. Quote
Fejas Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 The head of the Crux climbing gym in Eugene said he has climbed ice out there. stoners dont know nothing. I'd be suprized if anything substancial would form, its on the edge of a basin, unless its up in the Ochaco's, but I'd seriously dout the formation of ice in them thar range... you'd have better luck finding something in the steens .... Doug Posted January 21, 2004 Posted January 21, 2004 Burns? They still call it that? I re-named it "Bites" after spending a couple of nights camping there in 2002. Frigging bugs were aggro as hell! Quote
bunglehead Posted January 23, 2004 Posted January 23, 2004 Bites! HA! good slide in the playground in the middle of town, though. Quote
