allthumbs
How do I get bicycle grease out of a tan carpet? I've already spray n'washed and tried other shit. Now it's a brown smear. I don't want to throw the fucker out. Any home remedies, ladies or gents?

sk
grease it the worst anything that is harsh enough to remove the grease will remove the colour from your rug
willstrickland
Simple Green straight, blot off with washcloth soaked in warm water. After the worst is out, Simple Green straight, let soak in for a while. Repeat blotting.
rbw1966
I've used a citrus-based cleanser to remove grease from my clothes before without washing out the color. I think it was called 'goof off' or something like that.
allthumbs
thanks, I'll try the simple green first, than the orange shit.
klenke
If that doesn't work, I hear urine works really well. If you don't feel like pissing right on the grease streak, you can use one of these.

Whatever you try, test it on a sample in the corner or on some snipped fibers.

PONCHO&LEFTY
Goof off may well and off a human. Strong chemical junk.
cj001f
Depending on how much is there, and if it's your carpet or not, a strategic clipping of the offending carpet fibers works well.

sobo
Is it "Goof Off" or "Goo Gone"? I have Goo Gone. It's a toluene-based chemical. Same stuff?
