When was the last time this happened to you?

I was out running on an urban forest trail when something flew up and hit the back of my right calf. It stuck there. It felt cold and wet. It was a slug- one of those great big ones. I flicked it off with my finger, but it left yellow goo (insert vomit greamlin here). I was able to wipe off most of it on my sock. I was a bit miffed because up to that point I was making really good time.

Go ahead, write haiku. I know you want to.

My buddy on the scramble out of Breaksfast Cracks at Rocky Butte, reached up for the one tough slopey move only to slap a big yellow banana slug into mush. He almost took a bit of a tumble on that one.

Chickens don't like them.

It is an acquired taste.

Soon they are chowing down.

I meant to write:

Soon they will chow down.

Sounds better anyway because it is not in the "passive voice" that Microsoft Grammar hates so much.
