EWolfe Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 How about a summer home at Index, and a winter home in Bend! ...wishful thinking Quote
JoshK Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 If I could afford to have multiple houses my ski villa sure as hell wouldn't be in Bend, OR. Quote

Hmm...maybe I should reconsider then. Seriously tho, the last thing we need is retired people in bellingham. They should all go to phoenix and florida, since those places are already shitholes. Meanwhile, leave bellingham full of college chicks and climbers. Quote

JGowans Posted July 10, 2003 Author Posted July 10, 2003 yeah, we were but then we started talking about summer homes and winter homes. kingston seems like a decent place to btw. is it? Quote
JoshK Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 FWIW, my parents got a place on bainbridge and they really like it. Quote
Dru Posted July 10, 2003 Posted July 10, 2003 if u want powder why would u go to whistler? freshiez is slushiez there year round. now if u want powder i hear blue river is nice; kicking horse; rossvegas; nelson. in fact if it were not for the dirty hippies & distance from squamish, nelson would be the ideal place to live. Personally, I've never thought Whistler's snow was all that great. It is typical PNW ,but it can be damn fun anyway. Whistler is just cool cause there is so much to do there. It's funny how all the tourons here who diss on local snow go to whistler for their vacations. someplace in the canuck rockies might be fun. decent skiing + ice climbing, and it seemed like a lot of cool towns existed there to me. JoshK Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 So whats the big deal about salem anyway? I've been there twice now and both times left scratching my head on why everybody thinks it's such a great place. Quote
iain Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 What redeeming qualities does Salem have, you ask? The answer is zero. Bigtown problems with littletown annoyances. To summarize, it's a total hole. Quote
JoshK Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 OK, that was certainly the impression I got, but I've heard from numerous people how "lovely" salem is. I was awed when I actually saw this supposed nirvana. Quote
Figger_Eight Posted July 11, 2003 Posted July 11, 2003 If I won the lottery I'd buy a house in Hood River. You got everything within a few hours. BTW: Big White has tons better snow than Whistler, but Whistler chicks are HOT. Quote
