Stefan
Was anybody up in the Enchantments this past weekend (Oct 13/14)? I would like to know how much snow was up around the Prussik Peak area.

Retrosaurus
I'm looking at them right now. I guess there's a lot if you are looking to melt for drinking water.
otherguy
I like to drink lots of water.
Dru
I prefer to drink lots of beer!
Cpt.Caveman
I prefer to drink a lot of Jaeger and Whiskey. Wimps! I drink beer when going on long alpine climbs instead of water. It gives liquid courage for those crux pitches!
Cpt.Caveman
So now there is a lot of yellow snow up there
Stefan
I am thinking of climbing Prussik peak this upcoming weekend. How much snow is up there in your estimates?
Cpt.Caveman
Sorry Stefan I was just joking around. I dont really have a clue as to the amount of snow up there at all. Which route? If it is South Face or West ridge and you want a partner just let me know, I might be interested.

philfort
I have no idea about the Enchantments, but there was about a foot at the 6000ft level around Rainy Pass, so probably a little less in the enchantments?

Stefan
Kyle, thanks for the info. How much snow was on the rocks or was it scattered? When you said "it" am I to assume you mean "it" means Prussik Peak? Caveman, I am interested in the west ridge. So far there are three definites and I am trying to find out if we have a fourth. The fourth is a strong "if" at this point in time. I will let you know.
Cpt.Caveman
West Ridge would go in a full on snow storm IMO. That would be fun !!!! WOOOOOHOOOO! I have done the route and love it! Kyle_Flick
We were up in the Enchantments on Sunday doing a day hike in the Lost World Plateau. There was snow on the rock where we crossed over Cannon mountain (8000'). As we passed by Temple Ridge it looked fairly snow free. Expect pockets of snow in the shadows of your route. Cpt.Caveman
As a day trip. Read my email Epic is in the making!!!!!
PackOnMyBack
Stefan, Went in at Colchuck TH and out at Snow Lakes TH on Sat. The only measureable snow was found in drifts, other than that most every thing was frozen solid, including the scree going up Asgaard Pass. That day there would have been no problem getting to/climbing the West Ridge. Best of luck!!
philfort
Was anyone up around Heliotrope Ridge/Coleman glacier area last weekend? Snow report? A co-worker of mine reported about 2 feet of snow above 6000ft west of Stevens Pass. Must be a similar amount around Baker?
