Philfort:

Wanna go? I might be interested in a return visit this Spring. There is a lot of good skiing up there.

Dru:

Do you know if RR Pass (Hurley River Road) is open this winter?

I don't think the pass has been plowed through the winter since about 1990 when the price of timber made it feasible cost wise (?)

Lots of you have stood where this photo was taken and the peak shown in the photo has been discussed on this board.

It is not Mount Thompson.

Hint #2: I believe Fairweather and Off White are among those who have been here. There is a trail to this point, but not to that point in the photo.

Erik,

That is close enough. It is not Big Snow Mountain, but it is just East of Big Snow, sharing the same drainage. The guy who took this picture called it "Hardscrabble Dome" (it's above Hardscrabble Lakes).

is the arete one, porcupine peak then? confused.gif

i have no idea about the first one, a classic you say? it looks like it is crerar, or tzoonie, but i havent climbed any of those. the lack of clearcuts is disconcerting

is it the north side of grainger from trio creek or something?

the crap one could be anywhere. edge east peak? to be that bushy, it must be close to civilization, hence low angle.

aye, north side of Grainger from Trio. For some reason the rock is totally scruffy and dirty on this side. Not that there's anything big there though. Trio might be able to be used as access to that peak with the steep west face west of Grainger though?

Aretes I might have to leave till I scramble them in the summer. Nasty one hour approach.

I'm surprised you're not getting the "crap" references for the third. Think about certain nomenclature you've applied to a few peaks here.
