Only if you eat it in an "uppity" fashion...

Sure, after. I'll be coming in late Saturday after an long drive home from the 'couv Friday night, so can't do anything beforehand. Sunday afternoon in the Tieton should be nice. Talk to you about it at training.

especially you...

You might stand a better chance of getting your shit back if you offer a reward for its return. Start with a sixer of the finder's favorite malt beverage or something like that. Jus' sayin'...

Uhhhhhhh, I have a wide stance...

Well, then I'd have to say you were lookin' pretty good for a gay guy. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Echoing RuMR's comment. So what I don't get is this: Chad Kellogg does a ROUND TRIP from Paradise to the summit and back in under 5 hours, and then MtRainier0 says this: "...The second official record is by D@n - in 2003; his timers were Climb Max Mountaineering's Brogan Adams and Ft. Lewis Army Ranger Carl Poland along with Climb Max Mountaineering's Jacob Kamermeyer and Charlie Gribbon. 5:02 to the summit; no round-trip climb..." This is a ONE-WAY trip to the summit from Paradise. That's only half the climb that Kellogg did. How can these two completely different climbs even be remotely considered similar, and how can - possibly claim a record with that time when Kellog adds in the other half of the climb and still finishes 3 minutes faster? He can't, and shouldn't. What a :cry:baby...

that is just wrong, on so many levels...

Good read, mk. As a reference point, the Mountain Rescue Association uses a reduction of 1/3 of rope strength in calculating the 10:1 goal for the static system safety factor (SSSF) for the addition of any knot in the system. So any knot in a 30kN climbing rope immediately throws it down to a 20kN working rope. That would mean, say, hauling a dead vertical load of 2kN (a victim, a rescuer, and a litter/other crap) is right at the 10:1 SSSF.

You can tick all of these in a long day/easy weekend at Lighting Dome, Idaho: Midnight Fright, 5.9 and clean Y Chimney, 5.8 (not really "hard", but it is a f&%*ing big O/W) Cretin's Corner, 5.9 and dirty Mad Max, 5.8 (again, not hard, but wide) And if it sits in your closet much longer, how much do you want for it?

I've found over the years that if you want to rent just the right tool, go to one of the chains that does this for contractors as well as the layperson (SECO, Star Rentals, etc.) or one of the "mom and pop" shops (locally, that would be Bennett Rentals; that old fucker has everything, and he takes damn good care of it).

What, no personal response for me? You write personally to rob and Dru, but not to me. I'm crushed...

'bout time you started hitting back, instead of always being the punching bag, as you like to call yourself.

I just got back from a weekend camping/fishing trip with my son, and I have to agree, the older they get, the more fun they are to be around. Of course, on last year's trip, I did all the tying, baiting, and casting for him, but as a result, Dad got to do a lot of fly fishing down the shoreline a ways while The Boy sat with his hook full of Power Bait in the water, waiting.... Now that he's six and an Official Big Boy, he insisted upon doing all of his own baiting and casting, which did nothing but cause a lot of anguish on my end, as he went through almost an entire tackle box full of sinkers, swivels, snells, etc. and was calling "Daaaaaaaaa-dyyyyyyyyy!" about every three minutes. I decided that for this weekend, fishing just wasn't in the cards for me. Good thing I brought a book and a half-rack of Fat Tires... Still, I wouldn't trade the weekend for a million dollars.

Did that strike anyone else as weird? A degree in women's studies, yet prostituting yourself? Non sequitur... By doing what she's planning on doing, isn't she technically working? As in "working girl"? I'm just sayin'...

you just made my day, Doug... Sorry, Mel, no disrespect meant to your thread. :kisss:
