  1. I'd recommend an IV - saves all that messy drinking.
  2. I have a pair of Exum Ridge's. I bought them slightly small for better climbing, so they don't fit well for running. I like 'em. For walking(long distance) approaches I have a pair of La Sportiva Hyper's that I love.
  3. Compared to where?
  4. Driving by yesterday it looked December ish?
  5. DFA might find the new billboard atop the Lucky Lab to his liking..... it shouts sporto.
  6. Your not spending time in Silverton? No pipe there!
  7. Only if your looking for swill. There's better beer, and much better atmosphere, elsewhere in town. Bridgeport is like an uber Mcmenamins.
  8. Is that the Salomon quick lace strap? I found it garbage. In general I find the cushioning & support destruct far before the rest of the shoe with Salomon's. Guess I should lose weight.
  9. You are correct Iain. It should also be noted that the primary difference between the 555 (diamir competitor) and the 505 (404 update) is the heel. The heelpiece on the 555 is DIN, on the 505 is designed for mountain boots. For the toe, the 555 has a wire bail similar to the 505, but has a plastic piece covering it.
  10. The obvious question begs. When? Date & Time are always good things to include...
  11. Minx speaks the truth. I've never gotten more than 6 months useful lifetime out of a pair of running shoes. Such is the state of the art.
  12. Any idea when you're gonna be there? The winter ain't exactly a small time frame.
  13. Aye. Down to the last corporate veal pen.
  14. Mazamas drive Subarus and go on power walks?

    Mt Bike

What size is it? Where you at?
  16. It wasn't - it was fall of '99.
  17. Sierratradingpost has Scarpa Laser's & Denali's for $250.
  18. A tangential relationship, but... the Dolly Sods wilderness in West Virginia, which has a nice alpine meadows(and average 150+ inches of snow a year), was once a climax Spruce Forest. Then it was logged, and the accumulated humus burnt - leaving a nice wasteland. Ugh! It's up there with the golf course that used to be at the Awhnee in Yosemite.
  19. Next to most of Humboldt counties finest growers. Don't approach from the West side.
  20. Thanks for the reply - I went Labor Day weekend. Approached via Queets river - long but not bad at all. With an extra day it would have been well within reach. Ended up getting to 3k on the creek before I turned back - the highpoint picture is in my gallery. I'd be interested in talking to the folks you mentioned and learning more - there's little written history on that area.
  21. Another vote for a Sierra forum - perhaps even a seperate Yosemite forum? It certainly is popular enough.
  22. According to the history weather & vandalism took it out in '44. I thought the "tram" to Timberline was cool
  23. Does the stretch bogner come with Magic's?
  24. Magic or Lasers (check sierratradingpost) Dynafits and Atomic Tourguides. Or if you want better skis, Mira's
