    One Nation under God

Going to school for years doesn't inherently make you an expert on anything but going to school. And since priests study theology, I don't think anyone would expect them to inherently know things other than theology ( The study of the nature of God and religious truth)

Considering how much it's changed, the thinkings obviously not done, is it? Hence my question about Liberation Theology, a doctrine of social justice that a majority of 1st world catholics don't subscribe to but is popular in S. America. The church presents its narrative as immutable, and most practitioners assume it to be so, a quick look at history will show it isn't.

It resembles a California republican convention.

And your position on Liberation Theology is? The catholic church certainly has a coherent narrative, it's a bit of a strech to call it "well thought out", to my mind that would be both a coherent and consistant narrative, which isn't historically true of the church.

  7. The BD shovel hasn't been made for awhile, it's long gone. 2nd wind sports in Hood River had one a bit ago, probably not there. Not much use unless you are clearing a camp. Leki makes a shovel blade that fits on the end of their ski poles, Stubai made something similar. More useful would be to make an adaptor for a current shovel, using Delrin or the like.
  8. Yes, Jose Padilla. The Court (well Rehnquist, Scalia, Thomas, Kennedy & O'connor) refused to hear his case because of jurisdiction issues. Rumsfeld v. Padilla
  9. Remind me again which group of justices gave the president power to lock up citizens at his whim without a trial?
  10. We don't know wtf Chavez is doing, so it's indeterminate.

  13. No, the Finns. The international yellow hair peril.
  14. Amer Sports (Atomic/Suunto/Wilson/Precor) bought Salomon (Arc'teryx) from Adidas.
  15. If you'd read further on Patagonia you'd know that they are commited to fair labor practices overseas and make some of their pieces (capilene) in the US. They make excellent quality clothing that they are willing to back up with a true guaranty (unlike, cough, the North Face). I do notice a few too many SUV's in the parking lot for such a stridently environmental company; I also see the large bike parking lot and a fleet of hybrids. Do I think Bush really believes in a 6,000 year creation of the earth? No. Is pandering to the people who do despicable? Yes. PS: The link works fine. The page doesn't display properly in pinko Mozilla, but does in IE.

  18. No more bro/brah NA reps, Woohoo!
  19. If the same people make it, is it a knockoff? Italy's had problems for years with workers at designer goods factories making a few extra for outside sale. You usually spot them being sold on the street by N. Africans for 10-20% of retail. "Marketing" and "managing" aren't as difficult as some would like to think.
  20. http://www.sbb.ch/en/ Their times are dead on. Until you hit the Italian border
  21. Oh Matt. You're too modest! He manages to drag out the troll, he deserves the ego.
  22. You and rape
  23. "The CDA says the vast majority of people have type 2 diabetes which most get because of lack of exercise and being overweight from diets containing too much fat and sugar." In other news, fat people have health problems
