  2. Don't worry, you'll follow our lead. Like always
  3. no, just the uncoordinated ones, and maybe those dorks in the recumbents. Otherwise agreed - Max rocks! And the ones who get forced into them in NW by the MILF in Audi headed to yoga. MAX rocks, especially when you had the year pass given to you by your employer. Just wish they had had later evening service, particularly from the airport.
  4. That's not really fair, is it? I mean, I am just as outraged as you that Seattle can't build a F*&$! public transit system, but Americans know how to plan for the long term just fine. Those Americans just don't get elected. Not since the 1960s, at the latest. Europe also has much higher gas taxes! Raise the gas tax and build something useful, dammit. Nope, not America
  5. In El Chalten I recomend the grocery store about 500m from the campground. Pasta and Sauce. Chiles and Garlic to break the monotony. Of course prices and selection are better in El Calafate, but the drive is expensive.
  6. Because it's much more difficult to monitor a dispersed industry with many players like fishing than fixed point source emitters like powerplants.

    Corporate America

Why worry - in a few years Boeing will have outsourced all the work to Asian suppliers (look at the 787 list for a preview) so they won't have to deal with labor. They can just manage and market. I'm sure the Japanese and Chinese are too stupid to figure out how to sell an airplane

    Corporate America

Somethings never change "You just don't get it. We represent Corporate America. You represent labor. We are always going to be adversaries." - Boeing Human Resources Vice-President Jerry Calhoun http://yahoo.businessweek.com/magazine/content/05_39/b3952115.htm

  11. The value is set by asessors, who don't reside in the same office. Do you think?
  12. Not as bad as BD skis (BD always gets the Atomic castoffs!)
  13. Given the rapidly escalating property values in Seattle it seems like good planning. Those same rising values can partly explaing the spread between what the city paid for the land and what it expects to get
  14. Yup
  15. What do those buses run on? Roads and highways - eminent domain is used for expansion of both.

  17. You can get a much better ski for that money or not much more.
  18. If you'd used the lotion you'd be in a better place right now.
  19. And they need to put the lotion on their skin.
  20. Is that the Jeff Lowe? Because the history lesson they attribute to him is off by a couple decades. They were big in WW1.
  21. Han Chinese are the dominant ethnicity in China and are often referred to as "chinese". The others (uighurs, Tibetans, Sherpa, etc.) are equally chinese, whatever the hell that means. "ethnic Chinese" in other parts of Asia often refers to Han Chinese immigrants (ex. Indonesia)
