  1. That Prana top debate got me thinking. Sorry about going off, I was in a very very bad mood and instead of taking it out on real people, I take it out on imaginary characters. Anyway, a good point was made that if you are a girl and climbing at the gym or crag etc... i would assume that you did not come there to be hit on and would find that annoying. Same goes with a regular gym, at work as a waitress, clerk, or a customer somewhere, ect... So, my question is, is the only place that is acceptable to hit on a girl You Don't Know at a meat-market nightclub? If yes, then I am doomed b/c after living in PDX for 9 months, I do not personally know any single chicas (or many not-single for that matter). If no, then what are acceptable locations, and the rules of engagement? I decided I am utterly utterly clueless since I've always dated long term relationships with girls I've been friends with alread, so I better get advice from the other 1/2 (all three of you). Flame away
  2. I was making the obligatory post, there wasn't a lot of heart behind it - that side of the arguement just needed to be made. As with any argument I've ever made, I stop caring about it 1/2 way through the conversation. I'm just hopin' Jennifer Connelly climbs, that's all, or it'll be a long lonely life for me. Plus I went on 3 different dates in the last two weeks (which is unprecidented) and of course there will be no 2nd dates (not unprecidented). It's sad when your alpine success ratio is higher than your love life.
  3. It must be hard living your life as a sexless machine instead of a natural biological human. If you don't want people to judge you then I hear burlap makes a very durable garment that lasts a long time. Otherwise cut the crap and expect that guys will be checking you out. ESPECIALLY at a sport crag! I'm sorry if you're too good for men to be checking them out too, b/c I'm sure all you women don't do the same damn thing (well maybe not checking me out,but someone sizzlin' like Distel). As a single guy who enjoys climbing almost more than anything how should I go about finding a girl who enjoys the same? Take it as a complement or go climb in the alpine like REAL men and women. Now, if you are ugly or a lesbian, or are just jealous, then I can understand your point of view. (this should move the thread to spray!)
  4. me no like in alberta thats unpossible?
  5. Happiness is wickedly funny
  6. was this just an excuse to let us know that you were on the phone with Beth Rodden-Caldwell?
  7. Has this been done?
  8. good ol' redrocks bouldering. definately wear covered shoes on that approach!
  9. Winter has a nice house too. I will be homeless this summer
  10. Besides the fact it's raining, how much snow are on the var. rock routes in WA pass, esp the north faces? How about Dragontail, stuart, etc... Basically is the N.facing alpine good to go yet?
  11. Didn't that give Michael J. Fox Parkinson's disease, M.S., or something???
  12. Ok, I need to reverse the earth's rotation, fly around the sun, and start driving. Can you bring the rope? Yo winter, check yo PM's. I'm down if I can't reverse time for the drive to AK.
  13. Still looking for a partner to go tomorrow! It'll be fun and you won't feel like a loser cuz you didn't go climbing instead of whatever crappy plans you had instead.
  14. lets go then! PM, comin' up
  15. don't be a fucking pussy bob
  16. because I said so. plus even if it did, you can climb there w/o getting wet on lots of routes anyways. want to go? I am very very very bored.
  17. I can't justify paying out my ass to drive by myself to smith, so I'd like to climb at Broughton tomorrow (sunday). Don't worry, there are plenty of dry routes and it's not going to rain anyway. Email, call, or PM me please! -Mike
  18. I don't have access to the beckey guide right now. Dean, what route is that massive corner system on your 1st two (esp 2nd) photos?? Thank you, Mike
  19. and it has a selected climb.
  20. Note: the Topo and the Written Description in the Beckey Guide are mirror images. The slanting 5.8 crack goes left (as per the written description) or you wind up on the SW ridge which is a choss nightmare!
  21. Sysiphus is WAY better! I didn't lead 5.11 when (actually until) I did it.
  22. stay on the selected climbs please
  23. Ok, well if no one PM's me to be their partner, I may just come up Saturday night. Can you guys PM me with what your car looks like/license plate so I can find you (it's very hard to do that in the grasslands). I'll whore myself out to whoever, esp girls with broken ankles who can't run from me....!
