A bunch of folks at Pub Club keep asking when the Fall Rope Up is going to be. I’m sure someone will give a detailed report on this evening, but I thought we could all talk about having the Fall Rope Up on the weekend of October 19/20 in Leavenworth. Please discuss

Off White an idiotic debate over smoking pot in the Muir Hut is way better than this crap. Shit man while us working guys are driving around killing trees you desk jockies sure can waist time. Thank god someone is keeping this country working. Oh and Fence Sitter if you love America so much what are you doing in Canada you closet communist.

Sorry I'm not getting sucked into this again. If you like you can find plenty of stuff on global warming in some old threads. BTW 009 says you're a dork. [ 09-17-2002, 07:24 AM: Message edited by: AlpineK ]

There are lots of 600 year old trees. Take a drive down to Mt Rainier or out to the Hoh river. I should add ice core samples give a good record of temperatures back thousands of years.

I'm sick of the term, "tree hugger," being used to describe left wing hippy types. I can tell you from a lot of experience that if you want to kill trees in an urban environment you will spend a lot of time hugging trees.

I wonder why movies like Pearl Harbour, Platoon, Spartacus, Apocolypse now, Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot, Full Metal Jacket, Enemy at the Gate(to name a few)are so popular . Probably NOT because they are "entertaining". Yes it is entertaining to watch actors pretend to fight, but I think it isn't very entertaining to be in a real war.

Welcome back from vacation. Now relax and we'll figure it out eventually.

Ya know I skied one day at Mt Hood meadows, and I have to say that the ski area sucks big time. I feel sory for you folks from OR. There isn't one decent place to ski in your state. That is unless you're a shitty skier.

Donna or Betty or whatever. I thought you were going to stay in Boulder and not post here any more. Too bad you didn't stay there. You seem to have a giant chip on your shoulder, and Boulder is the best place for you. I'm sure you are well on your way to becoming a uptight, SUV driving, stick up the ass, resident of Boulder.

I don’t think D was making too much sense, but I think the word terrorism is getting too much use these days. Terrorism is flying a plane into a building or suicide bombings. Burning down a ski lodge or wrecking equipment is vandalism; vandalism with purpose but not terrorism. Of course the unibomber killed people, so I guess he can be a terrorist. It seems to me that there are plenty of right wing freaks too. Oklahoma city is a good example of home grown right wing terrorism. People who shoot abortion doctors, and believe in black helicopters tend to be pretty right wing, and they too discredit their cause. So I guess both the right and the left both have their own groups of freaks.

I hear Russ Erickson was a really great at bouldering. From what I hear he grew up in the NW and used to boulder exclusivly. He lives in CA now, but when he was here he probably did a lot of stuff that many of the trendy new bouldering types think they were first on. CrazyJZ knew him fairly well.

Oh yeah... I think it is none other than AlpineK. Yep. But, could it be , not 'cause its sunny but because the Canadian green is too potent? It wasn't that strong Dru.

But it isn't Leary Way next to the Ballroom. The Ballroom is in the 500 block of N 36th St. 36th is the main drag through Fremont which becomes Leary Way. If you can't find Fremont look at a map of N Seattle. See you there about 7ish. Unless your swapping stuff.

quote: Originally posted by mattp: You Freshiez guys are pathetic. In October, you'll be carrying your skis up to Camp Muir to get lost in a whiteout and gauge your skis on the rocks, while the walls at Index will be crying for climbers, it'll be prime time at Smith, and there will be no bugs in Darrington; conversely, in April you will be the guys hiking through snow to find wet rock in the Icicle while the snowpack will be at it's height and the alpine touring at it's azimuth. As the seasons go, I believe it's better to be behind the curve!!! I agree Matt. I haven't given my skis a second look for a few months, and I don't plan on it for a while. But I never miss a chance to yank Dwayners chain with words he hates. Don't be dissin no freshies

It's a nice sunny day, and I've got no interest in swaping gear. How about the Ballroom (outdoor seating) or Rays (swanky)

Yeah Freshiez!!! Hey dwayner don't be dissin the freshiez you know you love the pow pow.
