  1. Maybe
  2. Iceguy you seem to think that the arguement for smoking bars is being made by smokers. Col Von S, Mattp, and myself do not smoke cigarettes. I can't speak for Col. or Matt, but I dislike tobacco smoke. However, I am willing to put up with it when choosing a drinking establishment because most of the nonsmoking bars I've been to in the Seattle area suck. Life is too short to spend your free time in fern bars with prudish and rude employees. That being said I do like the Latona, and I might be willing to try out a nonsmoking bar I haven't been to (once) .
  3. Out there
  4. The last nonsmoking bar we went to, the Blue Star, sucked. The service was lame, and we got cut off. You aren't going to a bar for your health.
  5. So now I see the real reason Dave left Pub Club early. Like I said at Pub Club. The only bars that are non smoking in this state are run by prudes. Prudes don't like smoking, and they don't like climbers. I don't like smoking, but smoking bars beat the alternative.
  6. Well yeah except when there are 118 new posts on one subject my eyes start to glaze over
  7. Maybe I should get a desk job so I can keep up with all this...
  8. Ah yes Mr Buckley. Lets not forget Gary Spears on that list
  9. The last Eastside Pub Club I remember was in Redmond and I was there. The previous Eastside Pub Club Ray and I got bent at each other and we had a split Pub Club. Before last Eastside Pub Club both Ray and Greg came out of the gates strong and fast. If you guys want to drink on the eastside then raise the roof next monday. We haven't been out east for a while.... Or start your own event!
  10. Whatever Dave. In any case this week it looks like the Lockspot takes it.
  11. Juan, Sorry to hear about your friends. All I can say is helicopters time is very expensive, and you don't have to pass much of a test in order for CMH or any other outfit to take your money. The helicopter skiing business brought us fat shaped skies that are super easy to turn in powder. I don't think that's the sign of a super experienced clientele. Plus I've seen a bunch of the slopes those heli folks ski around Whistler.
  12. Juan I was making a generalization. Like all generalizations you can disprove them, but for the vast majority of cases I'm right.
  13. I'm backing Dru on this. I've done that drive and it doesn't take 10 hrs. 2-3 max.
  14. You got that News. There is a big difference between hele skiers and people who get one ride in a helecopter. The former probably don't know jack shit about the outdoors, while the latter are idiots if they haven't gotten some kind of avy training etc.
  15. Don't let Eric get to you. All he wants is a good smack down.
  16. Dave, Dave, Dave. It's all about Dave and Pub Club. Pub Club LocationsAlki TavNew OrleansLockspot All of the above locations have 2 votes for.
  17. I think you'll do more climbing if you stay here. I don't think there is a long rock climbing season on Baffin or many climbing partners. It might be fun for a couple years but not a lifetime.
  18. Where do you want to drink? We haven't been to the Alki in a while.
  19. All the information you need to ski Cannon Mtn, between now and the next big storm cycle, is right in front of your face. (except a map)
  20. I didn't take a measuring stick Matt. There is enough snow that snowmobilers and skiers were having fun on th Colechuck lake road. There was enough snow so that the skiing was fun to 500' above the creek. Below that you had to pick your route carefully, but you could ski to the creek. I'm sorry I don't take measuring devices and a note book with me while skiing.
  21. You can drive to Bridge Creek. The snowpack down low is alright. Kind of funky crossing the river, but there is enough so the skiing is really good to 500' above the creek then its ok down to the creek.
  22. They don't have a gate up right now. The temps were cold, but I didn't see much ice. Hubba buba didn't look fully formed. Word on the street is that drury falls is kind of sketch right now.
  23. Christian and I skied up Cannon Mountain Couloir today. The skiing was great. Crossing the river was tricky. All and all a great day despite the dreaded inversion.
