Here's a little Index history. First there was the railroad and the quary at Index, then climbers started hanging out. Eventually some notable local climbers greased City Park in response to an invasion of Colorado magazine idiots. Then a few years later came the Pig Riggers. The story goes like this. These guys were hanging out at Index in February drinking Schmidt. They ran into local burnout FG. F told them, "Hey man there's this hog's head in the town dump. It would be really cool if someone hung it from a route." ....So they did. After the first installation some bad people who hated the pig took it down. One of the riggers is reputed to have yelled at them, "I don't fuck with your rap placed bolts; why are you fucking with my lead placed pig." Anyway the tradition continued for 3 years. I probably wouldn't have headed up GD if I hadn't been aid climbing for very long and it was raining. I've done some silly things I now regret. I'm glad Michelle and Spank boy made it down safe.

Yeah that's the shit. The main idea when cutting down trees next to buildings is not to hit the buildings or kill anyone, so to insure the tree went the right way I cut off all the limbs on the house side so the center of gravity was away from the house and I had a rope in the top of the tree with a couple guys pulling on it. I should add this was a tree next to some military housing at Ft. Lewis, so I was doing my bit for national security.

Ok, Beck came up with the idea. He drank beer with 2 guys on MI one week before we had a Pub Club in T-town. I remember the Pub Club in Tacoma. I drove down with Dr J and met up with Erik, Wallstien(Sp?), Dwayner, and a few other folks. Anyway either we drink in Tacoma or the Ballroom. Dave's oppinion doesn't count since he doesn't drive, and getting him to pitch in for gass would be like pulling teeth. I'm not sure a poll would be fair since it would be tyrany of the majority (Ballard). I'm into Tacoma if all the Tacoma folk are into it and some of the regulars from Seattle are into it. So.......

My guess is it was due to all that ivy twining about the trunk. People think it looks so cool, but it does a bad number on trees. Bzzzzz....wrong. Brown cubical butt rot is native to the PNW. Ivy is a nonnative species that chokes trees, and reduces the avalable area for foliage. Ivy sucks, but it isn't why I killed this tree. I should know since I took core samples on it before. Maybe you should talk about things that you know.... oh yeah sorry this is spray.

I found that helmet in the Index parking lot. I haven't worn it for a while, but it is pretty stylish.

Yeah! That was a fun weekend. Great skiing and fun times at the cabin. That slope on Mt Hardy was great. Even the log skiing at the bottom was fun. Thanks for the place Dave.

I never said I was Gen X, but I'm not a boomer. I'm something else. Saying Boomer's include folks born till 64 is ridiculous. Isn't the defining question for boomers, "What were you doing when Kennedy was shot?" My parents hadn't even met each other when that happened.
