Here's a little Index history. First there was the railroad and the quary at Index, then climbers started hanging out. Eventually some notable local climbers greased City Park in response to an invasion of Colorado magazine idiots. Then a few years later came the Pig Riggers. The story goes like this. These guys were hanging out at Index in February drinking Schmidt. They ran into local burnout FG. F told them, "Hey man there's this hog's head in the town dump. Yeah that's the shit. The main idea when cutting down trees next to buildings is not to hit the buildings or kill anyone, so to insure the tree went the right way I cut off all the limbs on the house side so the center of gravity was away from the house and I had a rope in the top of the tree with a couple guys pulling on it. I should add this was a tree next to some military housing at Ft. Lewis, so I was doing my bit for national security.

My guess is it was due to all that ivy twining about the trunk. People think it looks so cool, but it does a bad number on trees. Bzzzzz....wrong. Brown cubical butt rot is native to the PNW. Ivy is a nonnative species that chokes trees, and reduces the avalable area for foliage. Ivy sucks, but it isn't why I killed this tree. I should know since I took core samples on it before. Maybe you should talk about things that you know.... oh yeah sorry this is spray.

I found that helmet in the Index parking lot. I haven't worn it for a while, but it is pretty stylish.
