I'm with you jdog. Ski areas have there place, and it ain't a bad place. I learned to ski at ski areas. I don't think I would have anywhere near the skill I presently have without the ability to ski tons of vertical without hiking. Even now I like ski areas because they allow me to get myself back into good skiing form every winter. Plus there are some fun slopes at ski areas. Also there are a number of ski areas that have excellent lift served bc skiing. BC skiing is better, but ski areas are pretty damn good.

There's sport climbing, alpine climbing, burninating and beer drinking, but maybe you don't think those are fun. I think it's safe to say that The Ski In will be on the weekend of May 1st to 2nd.

I'm not sure how this relates to this discussion but I note from the chart PP provided that after tax income for the lowest quintile increased about 9% while after tax income for the highest quintile increased by 55% over the period in the study. It sure looks like the rich are doing quite well compared to others.

More likely I'm time spent on the internet impared. I notice that all the statistics you quote are from 1965 till now. I'm sure the averages are in your favor when you use a time span that includes 8 presidential administrations. What I'm interested in is contrasting the period from 2000 to the present. To be fair a good statistic would compensate for population growth inflation etc. Hmmm I can blow off work and spend the day researching and arguing with F....Hmmm I think I'll go to work.

That's nice about secondary schools Fairweather. What's more important is what's going on in the primary schools. Without a basic education the likelyhood of turning to crime skyrockets. GW Bush passed a no child left behind bill, but guess what? That's right he didn't put any money behind it. So I suggest putting the tax money you save Fairweather plus a little extra into a fancy security system.

due to the nature of my work i pay all at once. due to my nature i spend my money and dont save too well. april is painful. April 15 hurt me last year.

I'm actually getting money back this year. I suppose I should thank GW, but I want to be taxed if it pays for public education and cleaning up the environment. A basic health care plan would be good too. Too bad PP is against a clean environment and public education.

When I first posed this question everyone seemed into the 24th/25th weekend not the 1st/2nd but now I can't figure out what the hell everyone wants and Jay just brought up the 17th/18th which just ain't gonna happen. If you'd like to have the Ski In on the 24th/25th say so in a manner that is comprehensible in the english language or if you'd like to have the party on the 1st/2nd do so in a likewise manner. Ya'll have until the 8th before I make a decision. PS Dave P's vote counts way more than most of you suckers.

I would say that Whistler is money friendly. If you''ve got the bucks you can do whatever you want to.
