  1. Just in time for winter, I have a pair of tire chains free of charge. The chains have been used once. One of the rubber tighteners broke and I replaced it with a bungee which does not affect the performance. If you enlarge the photo you can read the tag that indicates the sizes of tires they fit. You can come to my house in Issaquah and pick them up or I can meet you at my house in Issaquah where you can pick them up.photo_1_9_.JPG

  2. I've found that Cascade Pass can have really great early winter climbing. I bet there are a few lines that have not seen a winter ascent. Anybody know if T-F Traverse has been done in winter? That would be fully bad ass.

  3. I've worn out the shell fabric on PL jackets before I felt the loft had degraded. FWIW, I recently replaced a nearly 10 year old Primaloft One insulated belay jacket with a new one - same brand and model only the new one uses Primaloft Sport. It seems bulkier, does not drape as well, and overall not as lofty as the Primaloft One.

  4. I can't speak specifically to Mt. Adams or St. Helens, but in the North Cascades every campground, parking lot, trail head and road side scenic look out inside the park were taped off and signed as closed. The National Forest trail heads were open, although the bathrooms were locked and signed as closed. I wonder if the Cold Springs trail head would be accessible though, as there was two feet of snow at ~6,000 ft in the North Cascades.

  5. Some history about the dry tooling area on SR 900. Alex and I were working construction together some 16+ years ago. Driving by we stopped to take a look and do a bit of bouldering. There were top rope bolts and some really poorly placed 1/4" protection bolts. Some time later I convinced Alex to check it out again for dry tooling potential. He saw potential and cleaned and bolted it for leading.
