[TR] Static Point - Online, Black Fly, Right Line

Know what? I almost never read the sport-climbing t.r.'s. Since I only climb moderate trad, for me the descriptions of sport routes have all the appeal of the latest issue of Golfer's Digest or The Farm Report--just not into 'em. But I read your t.r., and I hung on every word. The combination of your great pix and brisk prose kept me enthralled...thanks for letting me on the rope... -
My buddy Erick snapped this shot of me scrambling to get a better view of the real climbers (Andrew and pal) in the NE couloir. ...came out nice, dontcha think? heh.

Nice day in the hills--for a while at least. We were planning to repeat our traverse from Colchuck over to D-Tail along the pretty connecting ridge, but after messing around on 'Chuck for a bit, the weather started really closing in, so we just booted back down the col and headed out in the rain / snow... This shot is a bit of a "where's Waldo," but your party can be seen topping out in the upper left of the frame--congrats!

...actually, your gr8 photos make a nice break from the endless repetition of the same frozen waterfall and rock face butt-shots! thx.

The full TR is awesome as usual--thanx! I think I could handle the "Descend East Ledges" part; the rest, I'm not so sure about. :0) -

Great pix of the E Ridge! Good call on the full traverse; we took the usual retreat from the summit on our climb of the E.R. and found it a bit of a routefinding mess! thx for the gr8 tr. -

Nice one! S'funny...the last time I did that route my partner, a careful by-the-book belayer, kicked a load of bowling balls down on my head when some of Thommie's rotten upper portions gave way. Very fun, mellow route, but choose your anchor points with care... thx for the gr8 pix and memories! -

Very nice! P-Tarts are all I ever take into the hills. Thanx for the great pix and report. I'm not sure what my dad would have said if I'd asked him to drive me to a remote, bear-infested wilderness trailhead so that I could spend a harrowing afternoon solo climbing unprotected 5th-class choss and steep, exposed snow slopes, but I'm fairly certain that his reply would not be suitable for a general audience. Nice one, Marc! -
Unless you have very high clearance, you'll be stopped by a large washout with maybe two or three miles left to the trailhead. The ocasionally overgrown road ends at a small clearing with a fire ring. TH is fairly obvious. --cheers
