  1. How much can you punch out the TLT5. Someone told me the material is too thin to work with. My feet are not super wide, but my toes are if that makes sense (think duck feet) I am would love to get a lighter boot like the TLT. To the OP, I have some BD Method boots. They were the widest used boots I could find. If weight is not an issue BD is probably the way for you to go. Eric
  2. That is a cool place, I have been there a few times. I need to head back soon. Eric
  3. I have used several HR monitors but the two I liked best are the garmin fr60 and the suunto tc4. Both are really nice and easy to use. They have no built in GPS but you can add arm mounted GPS units or foot pods to track distance. The fr60 is probably the easiest to use but my tc4 lasted longer. I have used built in GPS watches like the garmin and the Nike + but I found that I didn't need the extra features. If I was to chose a GPS hr monitor I would go with the Nike+. Eric

    Fossil Rock

I have been to fossil many times, I think I may have climbed almost every route there but I have never been to the Ottoman Empire area. Is that what the steep boulders are called
  5. "47 minutes from downtown to trailhead" REALLY! That trip takes me longer while driving. I don't know how you managed that on a bike. Eric
  6. Great film, thanks for sharing!
  7. I would love to get up colfax. Weather next week looks great, maybe a little warm. Eric
  8. Pontiac "Bonerville" Many cross country trips in this guy
  9. Ramutas shoe repair. They were reasonably quick and my shoes (TC pros) looked like new when I got them back. Eric
  10. Who wants to sell me a set of all mountain skis, around 180 in length and 100 underfoot. Dynafit bindings are a plus. If you want to dump your skis from this season let me know. Eric
  11. I have also been watching this closely.
  12. Does anyone know when this thing is going to be available? Eric
  13. I love my Houdini, it's really nice to be able to clip it on a harness. I have worn the Squamish also, really great fit and it feels more durable. But I usually like what I can get cheapest! Eric
  14. Lets hope this jacket and the lessons learned will be passed down to us instead of ending up as a "look at how cleaver we are" publicity piece! Eric
  15. Even without Encapsil, the cut and design of the Jacket seem great, but I don't often climb anywhere cold enough for such a warm jacket and could not justify $700. Maybe once I start regularly heading to the Canadian rockies or AK. Encapsil seems like really cool technology which would be better served on jackets designed for less cold areas where liquid water or wet snow is more likely. If Encapsil works as well as they say it does, I think it would be logical to begin using Encapsil in there other down jackets. If they trust Encapsil's durability enough to sell it to the masses then I will probably buy it. So I would like to wait and see, and sense it is already sold out I guess thats our only option! Eric
  16. Full Failure on my sabertooths. Both Crampons fully replaced by BD. Eric
  17. I currently have a pair of silver trangos. I love the weight and how they climb, but they crunch my toes together. When I replace these next season, I will be looking for a boot that can climb very similar to my trangos and fits my feet which are not super wide but look like a upside down triangle (so my pinky toe is crushed). I am not sure if any of that made sense. Anyway who makes lightweight high performance mountain boots for people with wide feet. I have heard scarpa boots have a little more room in them but I have yet to try a pair. Thanks Eric
  18. Free all week, pm sent Eric
  19. I was wanting to get out this week while things are still cold and clear. I have some ideas but I am up for anything. Send me a email or pm if you are free and looking to get out. Eric Ehkrumland@gmail.com

  21. Care to elaborate? Eric
  22. Hey AK friends! I will be up in Anchorage from the 12/22 till 1/3 and would love to get on some ice. I want to get out a few times while I am up there visiting family and will be bringing my own personal gear (harness/tools etc.) but would like to leave my ropes and screws at home. I am familiar with Eklutna but have not climbed much else, but I am willing to explore. Let me know if any of you alaskans don't mind sharing your ice me. Eric ehkrumland@gmail.com
  23. I moved to the area a few months ago and since then have found plenty of partners interested in Alpine climbing but would love to meet some other people stocked on sport and bouldering. I am mostly free mid week and would love to find some guys who want to project routes or head down to goldbar and climb some highballs. email or pm me if you are interested. ehkrumland@gmail.com Eric
