A growing sport in Europe as well as South America.

The thing I don't get is folks that are not hunting carrying guns in the wilderness. WTF - why such a chickenshit? I'm off to AK for a couple weeks of field work near Denali. No guns, no spray. Just keep your frikkin' eyes open. I worked as a river ranger on the Green River in Northern Utah for a 6 months stretch, this is 6 years ago, and had to carry a gun. It was a requirement of the job!

Бідний Рогоз - той чує дзвін а не знає де й він. han lever, bra, og bor i en hule WTF, Tokogirl, you speak Polish now, too? Shite, I'm 50% Polak and don't know a word of it. BTW, the link works fine for me, but the connection is reeeeeeeeeeealy sloooooooooooooow. And I've seen similar pictures from as far back as WWI. Nothing new to see here. War is hell. No, it is Norwegian! So, being 50% Polish isn't going to help. All soldiers I have spoken with are usually not wanting to chat about their war experiences or say very little about it. They did what they were called to do just as soldiers from other countries do.

Manning Park is such a beautiful area. I've only skied there in the winter and backcountry in the early spring. Great TR! -

+1 - Pop Tarts, candy bars (Snickers and Payday for sure), summer sausage, a block of cheese, butter horns, the shittier the better. where do you get the summer sausage? any brand/etc that you've found is better than others? I never eat that stuff at home, but on the trail it would be awesome, I'm sure. I buy the Gallo (or there are other brands)Italian dry salami as it is a bit tastier than your average summer sausage. An Aged Gouda or Gruyere is great and packs well for several days. Soft pitas work well if you get tired of bagels. On the candy front: sour candy, paydays or nut-rolls in summer and snickers in winter. Also, I make some killer triple chocolate brownies that power you through a long alpine day.

Hi DPS, I am always appreciative of a hello out on the trail. Running the trail to the Lyman Glacier last Saturday I recieved many hellos, some chocolate covered espresso beans, and some great smiles! Look forward to seeing you out there on the trails

"Hurting the economy" - the Bush administrations lack of funding on the developement of full and energy alternatives, as well as as other policy issues, are all contributing to "hurting the economy". Didn't anyone learn anything from the "oil crisis" during Jimmy Carters presidency?

It may very well be better to look a little ghey than to look a little like ground beef. I guess we all have to find our own threshold of acceptable gheyness. I go for lots of reflective tape. "I did that once with some clippers. I don't really remember why, maybe for aerodynamics. All I really remember is that it felt pretty cool--I mean in the tactile sense, as opposed to the psychological. Actually it seems to me that having a healthy coat of leg hair should protect the skin from abrasion, to a certain extent." "Tactile" - interesting description!!! Has to do with the cleaning out of gravel, hair is harder to clean out - though I don't have any on my legs, I have cleaned some nasty road rash at some bike races in the EMT tent. Also, it scabs over a bit easier/quicker.

some do shave so that the road rash heals a bit better from being side swiped by some asswipe not paying attention turning a corner. Shaving your legs is aid. Less wind resistance!!
