True that Rock! I'm much better with math and I know that 87%+12%+2%=101%. What kind of poll is that? I've got a pole for Angelica though......... Yes 87% No 12% I'm not sure 2%

Will they send me one for free? I would carry one if it were to be subsidized by the whiners that think it should be mandatory. Geeze shit does happen and a PLB isn't going to change that.

Nice notice. Thanks

Alright folks, we're a little under three months to the Ouray Ice Fest. Is there anyone out there planning on going that might want to split some cost on the weekend? I just had my vacation time approved, so I guess it's time to nut up or shut up. I want to make this happen this year.

Harness the good.... block the bad. Keep fire burning.

Thanks for the Great Time, Schwag, Beer and all the effort put in for the 09 ice fest. My daughter had a blast on the wall. It's great to have moved out to Portland and I look forward to seeing this crowd again. I'll be putting up the simulator board today as I get stoked for ice season! Job Well Done on the Beer!

I'll be there, would like to meet some other members from CC there. This will be my first Detour attendance.

The only rockfall you should be concerned with are the ones kicked down by climbers above. I saw a rock enter in one of the glisade chutes this weekend and hit someone in the back. Dumb ass, everyone was yelling ROCK! Anyway, it was a great weekend, below are some pics. Donkey trail or not at the very least it's good conditioning for ice season. Thanks Dave, John, & Ben. Goodtimes!

I don't know about the SS, but here is a couple of shots of the Cooper Spur as of yesterday... Cheers!

If you haven't made up your mind yet I like to suggest the Garmont Epic Karbo GTX. They are currently on sale at Mountaingear for a smokin good deal. http://www.mountaingear.com/pages/product/product.asp/imanf/Garmont/idesc/Epic+Karbo+GTX+Hiking+Boot+-+Men%27s/Store/MG/item/114375/N/0 I've had a pair for the last couple years and have found them to be one size smaller than advertised. Carbon fiber shank means no give and a little unforgiving on the approach. Otherwise they have been great for ice climbing, Rainier, and Hood.

Are you planning a one day summit or will you be camping out above the Palmer around 9000? I'm kickin around the idea of going up Thursday afterwork to high camp and coming down Friday morning to go in to work.

Nemo Tenshi is a solid lightweight tent. BOMBER

Sounds great. I'll be in touch or drop me a line if something pops up. I'm just getting settled in and formulating plans right now. Marc 937-305-3204

Hello NW. I just moved to West Linn 2 weeks ago from the climbing meca of the universe (Ohio). I am 39 yo gear whore with marginal experience. I want to rectify the marginal experience. I've ice climbed a handful of times in upper peninsula MI and on Mount Washington in New hampshire. I've been up to Rainier twice, one trip to Muir and one failed attempt to the summit that ended at Inghram Flats. With so many places to go in the NW I figured I start here looking for a partner or group to start my odessey with. I work Mon-Fri and drink cask strength scotch. I was kind of kicking around the idea of camping up at the top of palmer express this Sat night just to get a visual on the SS route and get some freash mountain air. I have transportaion and enough equipment for an expedition to Alaska. I just need a partner. Thanks

I used the Garmont Epic Karbo on Rainier in June 06 and July 08. I've been as far as the Ingrahm Flats for a couple of days and had no problems at all. I used no gaiters either, but had them as an option. Next time I will pack no gaiters and just loop a cord around my heel.

I have a Tenshi and definately believe it is worth every penny. It is a well thought out tent and finely manufactured. Some of the main reasons I bought this tent vs the EV2: 1) Sleep Tight Anchor Transfer that lets you stay tied in while you sleep 2) The poles set up on the inside so you can crawl in and erect the tent (ladies love that) 3) The vestibue can be ditched to streamline the tent. This saves weight and makes for a smaller footprint. 4) The condensation curtain works great. 5) Smaller company that can use the business.
