  2. I'm just a puppet for the man from 8 to 5, but would love to get out on some rock. It's been a bit since I've sport, trad climbed and would love to get out. I have gear, car, job, age, just haven't hooked up with anyone yet to get out and climb. I'll be a belay slave just to get on some rock Friday's after 5 or weekends.
  3. I moved from Dayton OH 2 years ago. The Red River Reunion is coming up March 26th. Definately a good weekend and you should plan on going down there. Nothing like a day climbing at the red and feasting at Miguels Pizza afterwards.
  4. Awesome John. Keep up with the training for Mt. Dickey. I look forward to that TR
  5. Great TR thanks. Bout time I put in for a passport.
  6. Alright Unfortunately I'll have to pass. You should have no problems moving this setup.
  7. Will these accommodate a size 12 boot? Ice 9000 and or garmont epic's
  8. Any particular reason you want to part with these superb pants?
  9. Very nice shot. Thanks
  10. Thanks for the post. Will you elaborate on the approch please? I've never been out there, but I do see the coordinates on google maps. Is there parking, etc.... or perhaps you wouldn't mind me tagging along next time for some recon.
  11. Alright folks, so my 1997 Olds Cutlass finally bit the dust when I was rear ended (the car) on I-5 and it was determined to be a total loss. So I was out at the car dealership and took a 2011 Outback for a test drive. Now I've been infected. Who thinks I should pull the trigger and pick up one of these pimp ass rides?
  12. How much weight would you say the two of you split?
  13. Sale is over, or I should say the ice screws are sold out .
  14. I used the OR Stormtracker gloves in Ouray this past January. Spent several days out in 20°F weather and I loved them. Great dexterity and they keep my hands plenty warm. I run hot and hate using thick gloves with tools.
  15. It was sold out in PDX . I was shit out of luck.

I may only have a few actual post under my belt, but I'm an addict and Cascade Climbers is my vise. Thanks for all the work.
  17. Here are a few pics from a conditioning hike I went on yesterday. IMO it looks pretty sketch on the north side. A view of Tie in rock Eliot Glacier Cooper Spur Route Another Eliot Glacier picture
  18. Great show! Drive your ass to Eugene tomorrow if you missed it.
  19. Anyone have any experience with these?
  20. Watched this today and thought I'd pass it along. A good video testing dyneema and nylon slings can be found on the DMM website. http://www.dmmclimbing.com/video.asp?id=5
  21. Depending on your sat phones requirements I speculate it would just take longer to charge. The 4.5 solar roll outputs the same voltage with a lower current output. At 300 mA that's going to be a 1/3rd the amount of power output compared to the 14.5. Now the website states that the 14.5 is capable of running a sat phone and charging laptops so I suspect that could be interpeted as the 4.5 isn't capable of running a sat phone, but could charge one. I'd call tech support to confirm. I don't know much about the Brunton Explorer except it outputs 5V @ 1 A. It's considerably cheaper so that's a plus.
  22. To my dismay my plans had been scrapped due to an expensive car repair . I'm definately going to take a course in the spring, but I simply can't afford it at the moment.
  23. Brunton has a great line of products. I have the solar roll 14, that I believe is the best weight/benefit ratio. At 17 oz its outputs 15.4V @ 900 mA. The price may be a little steep but its free power forever. At least you'll be able trickle charge a deep cycle battery and use that in conjunction with an inverter to run some electronics during a blackout after your expedition. I purchased mine new off ebay for several hundred $, but I believe it's money well spent.
  24. Fire in the Hole!
  25. There were several spots to glisade several hundred feet at a time. I shortened my trekking poles and used those for a brake, never felt the need to get out the axe. The boot track was established enough that crampons did not become a neccesity. The snow was definately slushy and the crampons my give some a greater since of stability.
