If this is true (OffWhite disagrees) imo much of that is because Amtrak's service sucks, a large part because pretty much everywhere but the Easter Seaboard Amtrak doesn't own the track, and doesn't have track priority - the freight trains do. So Amtrak has to schedule shit times and gets delayed. Building high speed rails would most definitely change this.

Without the Columbia dams and the Northern Pacific (47 million acres of corporate welfare!) the Northwest would be a far different place. I don't think High Speed rail is necessarily a great idea, and spending is definitely an issue, but shit have a fucking vision for the future. The little "positive ROI, the market will provide" is and was bullshit.

closed at Aspendell, opens to Lake Sabrina for trout season (last sat in April), north lake rd is closed until later often. Most of the e side lake rds get open for trout season. Always an awesome place, but this year has been weird weatherwise. Lots of snow in Dec, little to none in January which made it more than a bit spring like. Could be an early spring.. or not. It's not peak summer crowds but there's plenty of people in the valley in April - especially this year with easter on the 24th
