  1. Gatorade dropped their Tiger Woods sports drink. Because it'd be tasteless to say, "Is it in You?"
  2. I typically go to Mt. Bachelor several times a year, stay in local accommodations, spend money in local businesses, etc. I have never skinned on Mt Bachelor, never intend to. It was more of a venue to get my ski legs under me early in the season before proceeding further northwards. Nonetheless, it is self serving rules like this one, made by corporate decision makers, denying public lands (however they choose to define Bachelor in legalese is another conversation) from citizens that makes me resolute to never spend another dime on Mt Bachelor until they un-fuck themselves. Consider my revenue stream gone. Small change, I know -but the point is made.
  3. Graham - for both. Alright I pulled the trigger on the belt version. I'll report back and let you know how it works. There's some poaching to be done out there (not animals)! Also interested in seeing how it works with a helmet cam for shooting at night.
  4. The big problem I see is that it's 430 for a light that's not even waterproof!!! Big issue in this neck of the woods, but maybe it could rigged. X-zoom...alright I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the suggestion. Any others???
  5. Anyone have experience with this beast? It's 430.00 on Backcountry, but puts out a small suns worth of lumens.
  6. Huh...speaking of which. I was just in Dahlonega. Still sucks. Porter was a Batt-Boy?
  7. Has anyone here climbed with, or been associated with Mr. Taylor? He is former British Army Special Ops, and has a series of climbs in the Himalayas, including key climbs on Mt. Everest. He is heading up a program I am interested in, and wanted to get some first hand impressions before taking the time to go in that direction. Thanks, ~Serenity
  8. RIP. Sorry for your loss and condolences to other friends and family.

    ObamaNation

Obama's First Six Months' Accomplishments 1. Offended the Queen of England. 2. Bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia. 3. Praised the Marxist Daniel Ortega. 4. Kissed Socialist Hugo Chavez on the cheek. 5. Endorsed the Socialist Evo Morales of Bolivia. 6. Sided with Hugo Chavez and Communist Fidel Castro against Honduras. 7. Announced we would meet with Iranians with no pre-conditions while they're building their nuclear weapons. 8. Gave away billions to AIG also without pre-conditions. 9. Expanded the bailouts. 10. Insulted everyone who has ever loved a Special Olympian. 11. Doubled our national debt. 12. Announced the termination of our new missile defense system the day after North Korea launched an ICBM. 13. Released information on U.S. Intelligence gathering despite urgings of his own CIA director and the prior four CIA directors. 14. Accepted without comment that five of his cabinet members cheated on their taxes and two other nominees withdrew after they couldn't take the heat. 15. Appointed a Homeland Security Chief who identified military veterans and abortion opponents as "dangers to the nation." 16. Ordered that the word "terrorism" no longer be used and instead refers to such acts as "man made disasters." 17. Circled the globe to publicly apologize for America's world leadership. 18. Told the Mexican president that the violence in their country was because of us. 19. Politicized the census by moving it into the White House from the Department of Commerce. 20. Appointed as Attorney General the man who orchestrated the forced removal and expulsion to Cuba of a 9-year-old whose mother died trying to bring him to freedom in the United States. 21. Salutes as heroes three Navy SEALS who took down three terrorists who threatened one American life and the next day announces members of the Bush administration may stand trial for "torturing" three 9/11 terrorists by pouring water up their noses. 22. Low altitude photo shoot of Air Force One over New York City that frightened thousands of New Yorkers. 23. Sent his National Defense Advisor to Europe to assure them that the US will no longer treat Israel in a special manner and they might be on their own with the Muslims. 24. Praised Jimmy Carter's trip to Gaza where he sided with terrorist Hamas against Israel. 25. Nationalized General Motors and Chrysler while turning shareholder control over to the unions and freezing out retired investors who owned their bonds. Committed unlimited taxpayer billions in the process. 26. Passed a huge energy tax in the House that will make American industry even less competitive while costing homeowners thousands per year. 27. Announced nationalized health care "reform" that will strip seniors of their Medicare, cut pay of physicians, increase taxes yet another $1 trillion, and put everyone on rationed care with government bureaucrats deciding who gets care and who doesn't. Bloomberg: Daschle says, "Health care reform will not be pain free. Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them," while former Colorado Governor Dick Lamm says seniors have "a duty to die." Remember that the President, Senators and Congressmen have their own special gold plated health care plan which is guaranteed the remainder of their lives and they are not subject to this new law if they pass it.
  13. 7th scariest person in America

  15. Also creek boating is probably a lot more dangerous than climbing.
  16. You're not taking into account non mortal combat wounds, and the speed and access with which a medevac can swoop down, and transport someone to top of the line medical facilities. I have personally known about a dozen people killed in war, and very few people killed climbing. I also race motorcycles and mountain bikes and would say both of those sports have a higher chance for injury than climbing. Still, something about climbing has a way of making me crap my pants.
  17. Hey cunt muscle - have you ever considered the ramifications of your obsession with being a complete internet prick?
  18. The true spray gods left the building long ago. [img:center]http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs137.snc1/5851_1179881571749_1069453798_30545870_52261_n.jpg[/img]

    Close Gitmo?

You again? Read "Sun and Steel" buddy, it will help you get through it with a new vision of your future. Until then... [img:center]http://www.cascadeclimbers.com/plab/data/500/EasterBunnyHatesYouBadboyBunnyRabbitBannerPhotoPic1.jpg[/img] Sun and Steel The motive and process of remaking himself into his ideal is depicted in Sun and Steel (1968). This book manifested Mishima's abhorrence of Japanese (CC.com) intellectuals (like Shunsuke (Tvash)), whose overevaluation of intelligence made them conceited, physically unattractive armchair theorists. He praised muscular beauty, which became synonymous with action in his aestheticism. Muscle and action were the antitheses of what a sedentary and meditative writer would embody.
