i can almost imagine that there is a rock somewhere under all that moss..
-
looks like you guys had some decent weather down in yosemite, ivan. how were the temps?

Jim's followed me up probably over 10-15 new routes in the last year (so if we can climb them you know they're easy) and belayed me on a few more he chose not to follow - whereas Kevbone is gonna be old and fat like me if he's not careful, (nudge nudge) I don't see him out as much. Truthfully, all of us would be bad sheriffs I'd suppose. This only looks like ground, it's a notch in a cliff @250' up. Endeavor to Persevere gentlemen! bill, you two are probably not the best choice for sheriff, but i suspect you make a pretty good posse.

someone wake up on the wrong side of the bed? really, dude, what we are engaged in here re: the "rock sheriff" is what you call "playful banter" -- i.e., goofing around, having fun, etc. you should lighten up and give it a try some time. and as for whether i get outside at all, well, the answer is "yes". shoot me a pm if you'd like to come along. Oh... so now I'm the uptight asshole and this is all playful banter and goofing around. My bad. Thanks for clearing things up. I guess I'll just lighten up and defer to your obviously superior judgement and skill as both a well respected climber and prolific contributer to CC. Thanks for putting me in my place. I'll stay there from now on. And you can stop sending me PMs. I'm not ever gonna climb with you. You should get over that and just move on with your life. I hardly ever get out. All my gear is brand new and shiny. I don't even know how to use most of it. I weigh 300 pounds and haven't seen my penis in over a decade. I'm actually really afraid of heights and I still live with my mom. However I really aspire to be a climbing god like you someday. 8D time for you to check out a class on anger management, atreides.

i'm sure you could count on one hand the number of times either one has roped up in the past year. let's just agree that if time spent climbing recently is a qualification for the office of "rock sheriff", then neither of these guys would be a viable candidate.

kevbone needs to get out and actually climb some more before he gets that title... (love ya kev, but its true ) maybe kevbone doesn't hang out at the crag as often, but he probably climbs as often as jim does.
-
i'd rather see kevbone as "rock sheriff".

Ground-up is the most pure style! what a load of bullshit.
-
i just can't let this bullshit post go by unchallenged. summitchaser, you need really need to get around more. there are shitloads of bolts at both index and leavenworth.

bryan, what you've said here doesn't make chopper jim and billcoe look bad; what makes them look bad is that they chopped your route without talking to you first, which i say is pretty fucking lame behavior. having the courage of one's convictions would mean talking to you first, not chopping the route behind your back.

the fact that kevbone is opposed to this bill pretty much assures that it is a good thing. one might call that the fuckwit seal of approval.

for you canadians, down here we have a fair number of people (e.g., fairweather. kkk, etc) who basically lack any compassion or understanding for other people and whose guiding principle is "i got mine". these people are human only in the sense that they've learned to walk upright and use flush toilets. beyond that they aren't as socially advanced as the chimpanzee. unfortunately for the rest of us down here, these dimwits are not only permitted to vote but to own firearms as well. the fact that we've passed some sort of health care bill under these circumstances is truly amazing.

thanks for this, dane, it is really helpful.

House of Pain, no hanger, what's the deal?

i think there was a thread about this but i'm too lazy to look it up. "missing hanger" or something like that. -
[TR] Black spider wall new route - Fri Amos 3/20/2010
el jefe replied to alpinebumm's topic in Oregon Cascades
nice work, men. -
pm sent.
-
nice trip once again, john. i was thinking the other day that you had been pretty quiet lately as regards TRs.
-
why not just leave the ropes where you found them and assume whoever left them had a good reason for doing so and will be back to retrieve them shortly? doesn't seem like such a stretch to give others the benefit of the doubt.
-
i think that using aiders to ascend a sport route pretty much has to qualify as the least challenging form of climbing. you guys must be hard up for an excuse to get out of the house.
-
"revolving doors of justice" -- haven't heard anyone mention that one in a long time.
-
bill, even a stopped clock is right twice per day.

off, having fairweather come to your defense is pretty much the kiss of death on this website. he never lets the facts get in the way of what he wants to believe.
