wow, thanks for all the info Dru! I think I might head up to Hells Gate if its good, only about 1hr from my house, I walked from my house to Hopyard hill today and there were thin streaks ov ice all over it, there were two 20ft boulder problems that were fun to climb tho. Cant wait for saturday!

Is anything good in near Hope for climbing on saturday? Jarvis? Mousetrap?

I'm looking for someone who wants to go ice climbing near Hope on saturday or sunday, maybe jarvis bluffs or mousetrap if its in. I'm fairly new to ice climbing and dont have screws yet but I have all other gear, can lead WI2 and WI3 if ice is good, will try Top Roping anything you can lead. Its my little bro Top Roping Sleeping Princess (5.9) at Harrison Bluffs Some 12 year old leading a 5.10b in Nanaimo, I led it before him and it was pretty crimpy, I was impressed!

Campusing is easier for kids, I could campus some of the indoor climbs in Abotsford and not get pumped cuz I was so light

Ya, bailing from the spur ridge back into the angel would be a cake walk.... I'm a bit worried about the very top of my gulley where it breaks out a bit into steeper and more open terrain because this is obviously where the slides start from. I will go back for sure if I can find a partner to climb with, it looks like a cool line..

When I was 12 my coach started pushing me too hard, trying to get me on hard 12's and 13's and stuff and It sucked and I stopped climbing for a while.. dont push kids

I think theres an easy ice climb called 'Easy Intro' somewhere between Herrling Island and Peters road exits near Hope.... has anyone else heard of it and know where to park to find it?
