The only substantive difference between N Korea and the US is the popularity of fuschia clothing.

Raven Maps $30 each. I have Washington, Alaska, United States, and North America I also have Oregon in good shape for $15

Not yet, knock on wood, but should that need ever rear its head, I'll happily take the plunge, grateful for all that modern pharmacology has to offer today's aging lecher. It is kind of funny that ED is apparently the number one affliction among FOX regulars, despite all the supplemental testosterone fueled swagger. Dumbshit bullying doth not a great sex life make. Or doth lack of sex a dumbshit bully make?

This is what happens when your bubble pops. The GOP inserted Kristian cock up its ass during the holy roller heyday, but when folks finally wake up en masse to the scam, the paypack is swift, sure, and very long lasting. That's kinda what happens when you openly declare war on 2/3 of the electorate and science. Now the RNC must decide between wiping its Dog fearin', snake kissin' base off its Berlutis, machine gunning the Tea Baggerz in the process, or continued shrinkage for the next generation or so. Considering that Cialis seems to represent 90% of the FOX ad budget, I'd say they'll need to buy an electron microscope within about 10 years. Now that Karl Rove has declared open season on the Tea Baggerz, the next few years should be very entertaining as we watch dumbshit blowhard after dumbshit blowhard find their campaign coffers not-so-mysteriously on the light side. As Christine O'Donnel found out in no uncertain terms, stupid doth not a long term survival strategy make in this brave new world of liquid information.

I believe that's called crop dusting.

Not if you can wear the coconut shells afterwards. Who doesn't love a luau? Folks keep talking about salt, but there are 5 major electrolytes and 3 less important ones you need to keep taking in to keep going. Good electrolytes replacements (Nuun, endurolytes, etc) do the job effectively without having to climb any palm trees in your bare feet.

What if I'm just thinking about attempting to compare the two? At what point can I be guaranteed a thoroughly fucked brain? We learned our brainwashing, er, interrogation techniques (loud white noise, stress positions, cold, sleep deprivation = oatmeal brain withing 48 hours - used extensively by the US in a variety of conflicts since then) from the N Koreans after we debriefed the crew of the Mayaguez. That's why indefinite, secret detention is such a bad idea - you can get anyone go confess to anything as long as you have enough uninterrupted quality time together. We're more alike than you might think, except that Dog is on our side, of course.

Regarding the ridiculous 'unconstitutional' claim, this is a common Tea Party line - and one that sadly belies an abject ignorance of basic civics. Comprehensive legislation can include hundreds or thousands of pages. One or more of its many sections may be challenged on constitutional grounds, as in the case of the VAWA. This is a common and normal function of our system of checks and balances and part of why we have a judiciary in the first place. Most legislators are not legally trained, and fewer still are constitutional experts. A lot of legislators don't actually subscribe to various parts of the constitution - decades long attempts to infuse kristian beliefs into policy, in direct violation of the 1st Amendment, comes to mind. Thus, legislation containing a section or two that will later be ruled to be unconstitutional is passed all the time. Finding one or two sections of a piece of comprehensive legislation does not make the entire law unconstitutional any more than removing a wart kills the previous owner. That's a really, really stupid (to the point of retardation, if you will) and largely meaningless debate point, but its also a really, really common one, at least as far as the Tea Party is concerned. Putting your ignorance out there on U tube and FB - whether ginned up by the RNC or Tea Party leaders as a fake grass roots thing (really common) or as part of an amateur hour, puts yourself out there for criticism. I would guess no one forced this young, ignorant women to make such retarded non-arguments against the VAWA. You attempt to disseminate ignorance and outright lies, you can expect a little feedback, no? I realize the people like Pink have no clue what this issue is all about - they don't bother to check what's in the law or what the results of been. They're just taking the piss as part of a standard anti-librul troll. To some of us who've witnessed this kind of violence first hand for many years, and who know and love others with the same past, its actually a very real issue, however.

The GOP line that the state is just 'interfering with families' is an interesting one. Tell that to the mother who had to go to the hospital with a broken rib because her husband kicked her in the stomach, the wife who has a permanently crooked arm because her previous husband broke it, or the 8 year old girl who was dragged around her front yard by her hair for dropping a glass of milk on the floor. This are all just a few of an unfortunately large catalog of first person anecdotes. All rights to the abuser, right? Fuck the victims, right? Assault is assault, whether you know or live with the person or not. People will do what they can continue to get away with. Drunk driving (down by half since the state starting cracking down), littering (ditto), domestic violence, date rape, and stalking (ditto...until now, of course). And people are people, illegal immigrants, homosexuals, and native americans included. A person in the United States should expect that the state will punish violence committed against them. This is a very basic role. Providing TEMPORARY visas for illegal victims of DC enables them to be witnesses, which enables the state to prosecute their abusers. This is a bad thing, somehow? If the abusers is a legal, I guess we just let them go to do it again, right? Millions of families are fucked up. Drug/booze abuse, mental illness, psychopathy - these folks bear children. Protecting the lives and basic physical security of these people is the least the state can do. Providing them with proven alternative ways to learn achievement skills and non-violent socialization through things like preschool (probably the number one most effective thing the state can do to mitigate the life long damage done by a shitty family situation) is not just humane, its cheaper - than perpetuating the problem. Ask any beat cop about domestic violence and how much of their day they spend dealing with it. The difference between my childhood, when (mainly) men backhanded, punched, kicked, and humiliated members of their family with impunity, and today, where they know a 911 call will lead to their certain arrest, is stark. Domestic violence still happens, but the Violence Against Women act has hugely changed that landscape for the better. This isn't about spanking/no spanking. This is about putting primarily kids and women in the hospital...or the morgue. This is about truncating their ability to have happy relationships themselves. The GOP should be ashamed. It's not - not in their playbook, apparently.

Well, here's a volunteer right here for you. I can pretty much build or repair anything a lookout would need, as long a tile floors aren't in the plans. Owning a previously neglected century old house will do that to you, whether you like it or not. I can probably recruit at least one fellow lookout junky as well. -

Ha! Josh has been talking about getting a drone to take aerial vids. Who needs that when we've got the Skurlock/Abegg Skycam? Thanks for the avian POV stoke, you two. Pure fun. Great series on the lookouts, too. -
You wash your clothes? Since when, mister?

The keyring wouldn't, but I'm sure the wire mount would tear off the boot. That would suck, but probably not as much as losing a ski mid trip. That's my twisted thinking, anyway. Not a recommendation, just my garage shop way of doing things, I reckon.

I was sincere Pink, but I'll stop wasting my time in that regard. You used to be fun and kind of clever, now you've decided to be a dick for its own sake for some reason. Boring and kind of sad. Yeah, yeah, I got a threat from the same poster as MattP...as did Ivan, as did....You didn't? Don't feel too left out. I gave it the same consideration as I give your 'warning' or whatever that was.
-
no you're not even close to being lazy, and i can tell you're a good daddy and a good citizen but like trash you like calling people retards that don't share your position. i hope someday somebody doesn't call your daughter a retard because she feels strongly about something. You'be become boring, repetitive, and stupid again. Get your sense of humor back, por favor. I wamt the old Pink who had an ounce or two of clever in him once in a while.
-
I think she was called a retard because of the abject ignorance of her beliefs, not the strength of her convictions. Seems like more of an observation than a judgement, really. Ignorance, like violence, isn't a good thing for a society. It shouldn't be coddled, rewarded, or encouraged. Unless Idiocracy is what your after, that is. Given the GOPs platform, a kristian form of just that seems to be the end game.

risk v cost of losing a ski down a chute or having one flapping during an avalanche. Chute scenario way more likely and could present some real suck, particularly on traverses. I put a key ring on my toe buckle wire and clip the leash to that. Don't think that'd stay on in an avi, but it's good for hanging on to the ski otherwise. 400 N is only 90 lbf.

Sigh. Hey Rob, how's it going?

Now, every law has a "if you vote against this you love to drown puppies in their own blood" title. Some are, of course, smokescreens. The USA Patriot Act comes to mind. This isn't one of those bills. This is the bill that instituted the mandatory arrest rule for domestic violence calls, which not only has provided huge leverage for abused people to protect themselves in the home, but also cut way down on frivolous domestic violence calls. The ACLU supports the bill, but advocates that DNA samples are taken upon conviction, not merely arrest. This is part of a an more comprehensive set of policies regarding the safeguarding of vital, private information. Innocent until proven guilty/due process and all that. Will someone please let the GOP know that it has lost the War on Gays? Karl Rove may well be that person. It's amazing how quickly a candidate shuts the fuck up when you threaten to cut off the money.

Knee length, well used. straps still intact but might need some love after another season or so. Don't use em anymore. PM and I'll leave em on the porch for ya.

for a woman who is 5'4", intermediate skier, just getting into AT. Fantasy setup would be Manaslus w/Dynafit bindings. PM if you've got some closet cleaning to do. Got boots already.

Count em - ZERO GOP members of the house in support. This law, which was enacted in 1994 - and re-authorized twice since then, has probably done more to protect women from domestic violence, date rape, and stalking than any other single piece of legislation in history. And why doesn't the GOP want to re-authorize it? You guessed right: the new version extends protection to same sex couples.

Thermostat to 11. 'sigh' There's difference in scale, but cruelty and lack of due process is cruelty and lack of due process, whether in Cuba, at secret prisons in Afghanistan, at Abu Graib, or in N Korea. Of the over 800 people sent to Gitmo, only a handful were ever charged with anything. Most were sent home - presumed not to be a threat after all, no? Torture in Gitmo abd the CIA's black prisons around the globe was famously the order of the day. Stress positions, beatings, confinement in small boxes, hunger, thirst, sleep deprivation, solitary, broken shoulder blades, and death. If the Bill of Rights is really what we're all about, than we would do well to act accordingly to maintain our legitimacy and provide an example to the rest of a world that watches us like the latest episode of Honey Boo Boo. If you think the US couldn't go all N Korea on its population's ass, light off a mini nuke in an American city and watch the fun begin. We've proven time and time again that we can ramp up quickly what we do on a small scale when we want to. Once you suspend the right of habeas corpus, as the US has already done, you can make people simply disappear.
