I'm familiar with the various ways the IPO was botched, and I personally agree that the value of facebook as a company was nowhere near the value of the initial offering -- but I haven't heard any substantiated, credible evidence of any of these investment firms breaking the law specifically regarding this IPO. What do you mean by "changing horses midstream" -- are you referring to adding extra stock at the last minute, or raising the offer price, or perhaps the last-minute downgraded estimates by the investment firm's own research division? All of these are indeed highly unusual, but not necessarily illegal and I haven't seen any article claiming that there is any actual evidence of fraud or criminal misconduct, or mentioning serious pending massive class-action shareholder lawsuits. Who is the defendant? Morgan Stanley? Facebook? Do you have a (preferably non tinfoil-hat) link you can share, I'd be interested to read it. I've seen lots of negative articles criticizing the IPO but none specifically reporting credible evidence of lawbreaking. Thanks!

I recently learned here on CC that it's not fair to complain about people abusing charity until you've tried to abuse charity yourself. Walk a mile in other people's shoes before complaining about their corruption.

It's amazing that you can still demonstrate this level of "us vs. them" divisiveness, especially considering that you and I appear to agree on this issue. It's confusing to me how you can, on the one hand, acknowledge your basic agreement with me on the grand ideals of freedom of speech, but on the other hand lump me into a group of "you guys" who are actively trying to destroy what you and I apparently agreed on just moments before. It's kind of surreal. Especially when my original point was that Canada isn't actually very liberal. Me: "Hey, Wow, look at this! Canada actually isn't very liberal at all! Shocking! America is way better." You: "Yeah, you're right. But this is what happens when people like you get their way." Personally, I don't know any major U.S. liberal icon that thinks freedom of speech should be limited in this manner, and I doubt the ACLU would support such legislation -- in fact, that particular organization would probably fight to the death against legislation like this. Yet you probably lump the ACLU into the group of "you guys" who are trying to destroy america or whatever. Here's a direct question for you: Would this country be better off if the conservatives in charge lacked any liberal opposition?

Their record on freedom of speech is certainly not impressive. Most Canadians, I think, are actually quite conservative. I guess it's not surprising -- despite pockets of liberalism, most of Canada is basically Texas, isn't it?

I wonder why so many liberals think Canada is so cool and enlightened? I guess they're just retarded. Or ignorant. Or both?
