  1. BIAS ALERT!!!
  2. SPD's usefull tips for using marijuana legally
  3. Exciting times, though. I thought we were at least 10 years away from this. Other states will follow suit and the fed will give in. I read that south American countries are watching wa and co to see what happens, since many small south american countries they have an interest in legalizing pot, too, since they have huge criminal problems stemming from illegal marijuana production. Seattle times article It sounds like the US signed at least one treaty with other countries that banned marijuana (among other things), how will the fed get around that? Amend the treaty? Abandon it?
  4. But it's the devil's weed!!!!!
  5. Show me one average person (not in law enforcement) that cheers these busts and thinks they are a great idea. I don't know what "average" means, but I know an "average" middle-aged computer programmer and republican family-man that believes people caught growing marijuana should be executed. It's insane.

I didn't know you read Suzuki Roshi. Good book. Branching Streams is a good one, too. Have you been to the Zendo on Whidbey Island?
  7. I wonder who's weirder, mormons or scientology?

Wow Joe, with such a generous and open-mind its hard to believe you haven't had any friendly conversations with people of differing opinions. Weird.

Meh. In the real world most libertarians I've met believe that charities, churches and communities should take care of their own, not the federal government. I'm not saying I agree with that (I don't), or that I think that is good policy (I don't) but I think it's unfair to attribute hypothetical motive to people's political opinions. As I said, I think most people want what (they think) is best for America and their fellow citizens. Suggesting that libertarians as a whole are sneaky fat cats consciously scuttling the ship and tip-toeing out with the lifeboats while everyone else sleeps is ludicrous. Have you ever tried to see things from their perspective? It's possible to disagree with someone without assigning a disrespectful interpretation to their motive, you know.

I think most libertarians honestly believe their ideas will help people, not hurt them. See, this is a problem. I don't care what these people believe. We need only look at the very recent past to see that deregulation, privatization, austerity, demonizing pubic works, programs, and workers (all Libertarian initiatives) have and continue to be a disaster. How can this possibly be news to anyone? Someone may or not have misguided beliefs but that doesn't mean they're maliciously non-sympathetic to people's troubles, which is the assertion of yours that what I was objecting to. I think even George W. Bush probably thought he was doing the right thing. My point is, I think most people want to help others. Maybe I'm naive, but I've met a lot of people in my life and I've met very few that genuinely didn't care if they hurt others.

Do you really believe this? Sounds like bombastic garbage to me. I think most libertarians honestly believe their ideas will help people, not hurt them. To say that "most" libertarians suffer from severe antisocial personality disorder seems fairly unlikely (and hyperbolic) to me.
  12. His own county voted democratic. Ryan was reelected. He means his own county voted for Obama http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/election-2012/wp/2012/11/07/paul-ryan-immensely-proud/

GGK, do you pretty much just like to fight with everyone? I can dig it, I guess. Seems exhausting, though.

  16. Jesus loves gay weed more than he loves Romney
  17. Tikki? Let's chat
  18. Look, can't we all be mature adults now that the state has legalized gay weed? So the stores will take a year or so, right? But I think decriminalization ends Dec. 6th. "Pub" club time. Who's in? Thursday night, Dec. 6th. Location TBD
  19. Let's drive this shit right off the fiscal cliff, Obama and Biden holding hands like Thelma and Louise. VRRROOOOOOM!!
  20. I hope Cain runs again in 2016. That guy was brilliant, from his clever re-use of the Pokemon theme lyrics, to his self-comparison with (long discontinued) black walnut Hagen-Daz, to his pizza-hut inspired 9-9-9 tax plan. His knowing smile was the cherry on that wonderful sundae. Brilliant.
  21. Yeah, it cracks me up to hear republican pundits reflect that the reason they lost was their candidate was "too moderate" right that's the way to get swing voters. Lol keep it up boys
  22. Smoke em if you've got em
