He kicked the Occupy Wall Street guys out of the park, but also supports abortion rights. He supports immigration, but also supports the patriot act. He supports a federal ID database to track DNA and fingerprints and supports hard labor for prisoners, but is anti death penalty. He supported the war in iraq, AND president bush's re-election, AND was highly critical of democrats plans to set a withdrawal timetable. How does this not sound like the mark of an independent? He was elected twice as a republican and left the party in 2007, in the middle of his second term, 2 years before the next election, which he won as an independent on the republican ballot. His conservative fiscal policies turned a 6 billion deficit into a 3 billion surplus. Do you just think he's a democrat because he left your party? Sounds like sour grapes to me. You do realize, right, that "democrat" and "liberal" are not interchangeable words.
