YESSSSSSSSS! NOT being tempted is much different than resisting temptation. A breakthrough, indeed.

Butter doesn't have dimples. Are you saying I have dimples? Only when you smile.

Thanks, Sherri. I will. I'm actually enjoying eating vegetarian and loving all the salads, but food, even if it were pizza, burgers and fries, is the first thing that goes when I have a lot of work to do and get stressed. No matter whether I'm on a diet or not, I just forget to eat. It's always been like that even when I was working as an engineer. That's why hubby came home from work a few minutes ago to fix me something healthy and yummy to eat for lunch. The man knows me too well. Sounds like love to me.

The Stairway to Heaven has beige carpeting?

Stress can send a diet off-course quicker than Homer can down a dozen donuts...good job for doing what you need to do to stay on track. Having one chocolate and a glass of wine is admirable considering that some could have just as easily gotten sloshed and downed the whole box of chocolates. Good girl! Now finish that project and eat your salads, Missy.

don't get too excited here. I jumped on the scale this morning and weighed 145 after weighing 140 on monday morning. part of what you might be experiencing is that you are building muscle. you want to think about how your body looks over all not just the # on the scale. and give it a lot of time. I think (sheri correct me if i am wrong) most of us have an ideal healthy weight. the trick is to find that and stay with in a range there. in the long run i don't care how much i weigh... i want to get rid of the extra bit around the middle i have acumulated and be healthy and strong and have an efficient metabolism. from experience that has always been about 130 LBS for me. it is a goal but sort of an arbitrary one. it is more important how i feel... and if i were you i would be feeling like a ROCK STAR!!! I would love to climb 1 pitches of 5.9 and i am pretty sure i would die Couldn't have said it better myself! Muffy's right on the money, AlpineK. Sounds like you are becoming fitter and healthier, not the other way around. Doing 11 pitches AND a long hike?! Stud!

"You Know You're Getting Old When... Everything that works hurts, and what doesn't hurt doesn't work. You feel like the morning after, and you haven't been anywhere. Your little black book only contains names ending in M.D. Your mind makes promises your body can't keep. You look forward to a dull evening. Your knees buckle. Your belt won't. Your back goes out more than you do. Now that you know all the answers, nobody asks the questions." Sounds like good times. Happy Birthday, Kurt!

That's some crazy diet you're on, girlfriend.

I haven't forgotten. That's one TR I cannot wait to write And one I can't wait to read.

I wouldn't either if I could run up mountains like that one, MisterE. I'll settle for climbin' them, though. Nothin' shaves the weight like a 50-mile trail run...that girl PUT ME DOWN on approaches! OMG, you are so not lying. She'd leave me in the dust on runs and bike rides. Humbling, indeed. Wish we could have converted her into a climber.

Well, shucks, folks. This is YOUR moment to shine! You guys are doing all the hard work, after all. And Rmncwrtr, we still got a date with a rock and a piece of cake this summer....

Thanks, and right back at ya, babe!

You are the BEST support!!!! thank you. i still feel kinda frustrated because i would like to be losing more faster. but i hate being hungry. You're welcome. You (and all the others participating in this endeavour) deserve the kudos. Change is hard(we're all comfort-seekers on some level), so choosing to change takes courage and succeeding at making those changes takes commitment. Each person has their own hurdles(work, kids, injuries, icing-fetishes) but look at how empowering it is to see each other find ways to clear them, one at a time, to get to where they want to be. Don't worry about losing more faster. It's sweet in the short-term, but like you've discovered, you don't enjoy your life when you're going around hungry all the time. Little by little is good. You'll still get there!(And it will be easier to stay there once you do. )

That's great, especially with being benched from some of your activities due to the bum foot. Some folks would find it hard to make progress without any injury hinderance. Look at you go!

Today's weigh in 130 lbs! Down 8 pounds since we started this thing. I am so happy though mr.rmncwrtr might be happier! He's really gotten on board with this diet and is making me yummy food that fits right in with the Eat to Live book I've been using. Last night he made Sherri's spaghetti squash. So tasty! Excellent! It's great to have that loving support.

And looks like Jens is out for the season, too.(broke his heel yesterday?) I know they say "misery loves company," but jeez, people are falling like flies 'round here. Get better soon everybody. And be careful out there.
