  1. I haven't forgotten. That's one TR I cannot wait to write And one I can't wait to read.
  2. I wouldn't either if I could run up mountains like that one, MisterE. I'll settle for climbin' them, though. Nothin' shaves the weight like a 50-mile trail run...that girl PUT ME DOWN on approaches! OMG, you are so not lying. She'd leave me in the dust on runs and bike rides. Humbling, indeed. Wish we could have converted her into a climber.
  3. Well, shucks, folks. This is YOUR moment to shine! You guys are doing all the hard work, after all. And Rmncwrtr, we still got a date with a rock and a piece of cake this summer....
  4. Thanks, and right back at ya, babe!

  6. You are the BEST support!!!! thank you. i still feel kinda frustrated because i would like to be losing more faster. but i hate being hungry. You're welcome. You (and all the others participating in this endeavour) deserve the kudos. Change is hard(we're all comfort-seekers on some level), so choosing to change takes courage and succeeding at making those changes takes commitment. Each person has their own hurdles(work, kids, injuries, icing-fetishes) but look at how empowering it is to see each other find ways to clear them, one at a time, to get to where they want to be. Don't worry about losing more faster. It's sweet in the short-term, but like you've discovered, you don't enjoy your life when you're going around hungry all the time. Little by little is good. You'll still get there!(And it will be easier to stay there once you do. )
  7. That's great, especially with being benched from some of your activities due to the bum foot. Some folks would find it hard to make progress without any injury hinderance. Look at you go!
  8. Today's weigh in 130 lbs! Down 8 pounds since we started this thing. I am so happy though mr.rmncwrtr might be happier! He's really gotten on board with this diet and is making me yummy food that fits right in with the Eat to Live book I've been using. Last night he made Sherri's spaghetti squash. So tasty! Excellent! It's great to have that loving support.
  9. And looks like Jens is out for the season, too.(broke his heel yesterday?) I know they say "misery loves company," but jeez, people are falling like flies 'round here. Get better soon everybody. And be careful out there.
  10. Damnation, 5.9(Castle Rock) and Carnival Crack 5.10d(Icicle). Here's a link to a "Jammer Primer" that contains some others: Crack List
  11. This thread makes me feel old.
  12. That's not cheating--that's celebrating. Happy Anniversary!
  13. Narcissius flowers are pretty and peppery.

  16. If he were more motivated, he'd change it.

    HEY SHORTY

    Shoot.
  18. Sounds like the migration pattern of a few people I know, too.

    HEY SHORTY

She was. But she clocked pap with a cast iron skillet one time. Then stood over him and proceeded to cook dinner. I think he took the message of the magnet rather seriously.

    HEY SHORTY

My Grandma had a magnet on her fridge that read: "No man was ever shot while doing dishes." Probably wasn't a coincidence that my grandpap always did the dishes.

    HEY SHORTY

    Better short than shot.

    How to get some...

Traumatic childhood handholding incident perhaps? When I was a camp counselor, we used to "punish" the kids who got in fights by making them walk around holding hands with each other. This was an especially potent punishment for the inner-city boys. Probably scarred them for life.

*If you're shy about the handholding, place a blanket across your laps and over your hands. This will help immensely.

  25. Don't worry about the little ups and downs. It keeps the metabolism guessing. (I think that is partly what is behind the rebound weightgain following a "successful" diet; the body figured out that it was burning calories too fast to maintain its weight, so it responds to the loss by slowing the metabolism. It can become a bad cycle.) As long as you're coming out with a net-loss over the long run, you're on track. And don't forget that the changes you've instituted in your exercise and eating regimens are likely to produce some muscle gains, which can make it seem like the scale is tipping in the wrong direction. But it's ok. The reduced numbers on the scale aren't as important as the improvements you'll make in your overall lifestyle. Don't be discouraged if it seems like you're achieving the latter before the former. In the end, they'll come into balance with each other.
