  1. The only crime this man has committed is against fashion.
  2. Be some good wet-toolin on there...
  3. I'm about to hop on my 10 speed and head over to the Smoke Bluffs
  4. It would take more than some dumb gondola to impress me as a tourist..'Look honey, we're going across ....yeahh ... If I were in charge I'd put in a wax museum, that'll draw the punters.
  5. Definitely hippies...everybody else knows hydroponics is where it's at
  6. Don't forget to buy a bottle of rye and some smokes at duty free..both essential acoutrements for the curling set. I get the impression it's more of a sport from the flatter provinces 'cause they've got nowt else to do. For instance, this from the government of Sask website: Curling — Official Sport of Saskatchewan Curling has been played in what is now Saskatchewan since the 1880s. The predecessor of the Saskatchewan Curling Association was established in 1904, the year before Saskatchewan became a province. Curling is one of the most popular winter sports in the province, appealing to people of all ages and ethnic backgrounds, urban and rural, and involving thousands of volunteers. Curling rinks are the centre of activity in numerous small communities. Curling: official sport of Saskatchewan Saskatchewan has been home to some of the best curlers in the world, including winners of Canadian championships, world championships, the first women's world championships and the first Olympic gold medal in curling. In recognition of the significance of curling to Saskatchewan and the international contribution of Saskatchewan curlers to the sport, the Legislature adopted curling as the province's official sport in 2001 by an amendment to The Provincial Emblems and Honours Act. The status of official sport entitles the Saskatchewan Curling Association to use the provincial shield of arms on its emblems.
  7. It's basically bowling on ice isn't it? I believe it is also an Olympic sport for some reason.
  8. I feel your pain...we thought it would be a good idea to bivy at the top and hence carried tent, bags, kitchen sink etc...terrible terrible stuff, I guess when the guide called it 'an unrelenting hammer' I didn't grasp the nuances of the phrase
  9. ..and don't drink the coffee from the little shop...
  10. Sweet picture! Don looks like Zeus looming out of the background.
  11. Yeah I don't see what the big deal is, they only logged the 1/2 facing the highway anyway, is it not to expand the number of lanes? I can understand people maybe getting upset about them blasting through the Eagleridge bluffs but how many people actually went to the malamute specifically to enjoy that forest?
  12. Last year all the moons & planets aligned and Flying Circus at the Bluffs was actually sans toprope!!!! ...of course by the time I was half way up someone's head poked over the top looking to drop their rope down.
  13. The only things you missed for a perfect "clueless American tourist " score are the Skyride, Capilano Suspension Bridge, Gastown steam clock and Museum of Anthropology. There is also Lonsdale Quay....tourists always seem rather fond of standing in the middle of the aisles staring blankly at the cheese display. I guess he's probably already left but hopefully he remembered to pack his sweat pants, white trainers and bum bag so he will be easily identifiable.
  14. Not sure what use a rope would be...and I'm pretty sure there wouldn't have been any crash pads when Dawes led it. Of course it's easy to dismiss it as bouldering until that's you trying to belly flop over the top.
  15. Probably one of them illegal immigrants, they'll try anything to get past the border guards
  16. Was up at Rambles on the left hand side today (Sat, Mar 3). Everything was still in good condition, a bit wet but the tradeoff is climbing in just a thin top. Did my first ice lead..N Face Eiger here I come
  17. Here's the mofo's right here Nice boat..don't reckon it'll be that sunny in March on the North coast though
  18. Actually I'll second that motion. I got the impression that movie was meant to be shown on the Discovery channel instead.
  19. People with english as a second language always come out with the best lines.
  20. Some good movies on, I liked the one of Ines & Audrey climbing Nemesis quite casually. Plus 'Knowing Andy' was an interesting character study. Kudos to Kelly Cordes for his slideshow, very entertaining but he got his message across as well. Thanks to the organizers if any of them plumb these depths

It doesn't have PDX on there...I've been lurking around here for months now and I still don't know what that means

    Pirate Peak?!

Legend has it that's where Beckey buried his treasure...
  24. I might have to stop and check out the Lillooet nightlife next time I'm up there, especially if there's ice climbin' girls around!
  25. I didn't think Bryce was very nice. We saw his wife at the supermarket buying all kinds of supplies. Then we show up one morning and ask for breakfast and he's like 'No, it's Saturday, we don't do breakfast on Saturday' Come on Bryce, we know you got bacon & eggs back there..so we left unsatiated... now that little hostel up the road that has the mountain bike tracks and that...Gary the Maori dude is an excellent fellow, & they got a hot tub...anyways...
