  1. You're not missing much. It's going to rain all week here. Maybe a dry day Thursday but Index will still be wet.
  2. Why do some people insist on advertising the fact that certain crags are empty (e.g. Peshastin Pinnacles and Index). Do you really want to see more people???? Do you really want to be around more climbers??? {Why?????????} Keep it to yourself and hope the trend continues! I'm so sorry! I forgot Index was a secret that hardly anyone knew about! You're right, if I hadn't made that post Index would never have crowds.

    Hot Chicks!

    now THIS is worthwhile spray
  4. We did not have a dog nor did I see one. But we were up high the whole day. Too bad about your experience. I like to see friendly, well-heeled dogs at the crags. Obviously you had a different sort of encounter.
  5. On Saturday Index was almost deserted. The weather was dry, cool, mostly cloudy A.M. to all cloudy P.M. Where was everybody? There was one team on Winkie Dinkie Cliff, one on Newest Industry, one on Princely Ambitions. Country was empty. When we rapped down through GNS about 2:30 even that route was deserted. 2:30 on a Saturday and not a soul on GNS!
  6. Maybe the comparison should be made a lower level of human achievement. Just sayin'
  7. And bolt kits.
  8. Check back at the end of the summer.
  9. You pick your market position, I'll pick mine. But, I am fully featured.
  10. I'm willing to provide a rebate.
  11. EMBRACE CHANGE. AND HOPE. Not helping!
  12. My industry was hard hit by the downturn in '92-'93. I don't want to go through that again.
  13. Also, Teller's PR ego promoted himself as the "father of the H-bomb" but the key central problem was worked out jointly with Stanislaw Ulam. Ulam did the heavy lifting in figuring out the X-ray reflection feature of the syrofoam tamper.
  14. Many people think that Teller is the Dr. Strangelove character but in fact Stanley Kubrick modeled him after Henry Kissinger. Kissinger spent many years in think tanks working on nuclear war strategy.
  15. No, Index sucks. Go to Leavenworth.
  16. I went to the same prep school as Ross' son. My parents got to know Ross Sr. through the school parent's organization. They thought well of him personally and were a bit taken aback by some of the positions he eventually took up.
  17. I have never voted FOR a presidential candidate. And my vote has never mattered anyways, living in "blue" states. Except in '88. The first time I ever voted was in a presidential election a month after I turned 18. I voted *for* a candidate. I was so proud, voting for the first time and all, and I believed in him, and so on. God Bless America, greatest country on earth, the Constitution, liberty, blah blah blah. Boy what a sucker I was.

    not yours

  20. Finding an insight like this makes putting up with the rest of the bilge on this board worthwhile. In my limited experience placing pickets in the soft snow around here, I've always thought they were worthless. It never occurred to me to think about how a fall's energy deposit would be passed to the picket. Thanks.

Be careful...just like your avatar: backwards down the stairs into the basement.
  22. My entire order is backordered 2 weeks. I ordered a range of sizes so I'm guessing they don't have any C4s in stock. It's frustrating but those are good prices so I guess I have to surrender something (in this case, speed).
  23. This is going to get ugly.

"Some sex acts?" We're talking Leviticus here. My kind of girl (except for the drunk thing).
  25. Weird, I thought of tank traps too.
