  1. One of the routes we did was a short 7. I think my buddy said it was Defoliator. It was obvious that it doesn't get much traffic and I was worried it had some sort of defect but it's just short. Anyway the ground looked like maybe someone had already been there this year but the route was dirty and I passed on a couple pro placements because vegetation was in the way. Also there were lots of ants and spiders. So yeah, it was being resorbed back into the primeval.
  2. That sucks! What a'holes! Why work for them? You're badly injured, that's a fact. I hope all this works out for you O.K.
  3. I've always had good experiences with other peoples' dogs at crags. I don't have a dog myself and enjoy being around them. But, the ones I've been around have always been well-behaved and, although offleash, a responsible owner has always been nearby. I didn't realize there were so many bad experiences.
  4. Carolyn, send me your climbing gear. I don't know how to put this...but...you won't be needing it much longer.

    Cancelling Vonage

How can they? You cancelled the service! er...you didn't give them your cell number, did you? You might incur added charges.

she won't respect you tomorrow though...the night's fevered whispers never withstand dawn's harsh light
  7. Sounds serious. Also sounds like you already know it.

  9. man where you been
  10. Ach, that's been on the interwebs for months.
  11. I thought buying you beer and food later was the price of silence. Just a down payment, I guess.
  12. how's that ropegun training going? Runnin' laps on GNS yet? punter... Laugh while you can, monkey-boy.
  13. You're all a bunch of wankers. I have fallen over 5,000 feet many times. Once I fell almost 12,000'. NONE OF IT WITH A ROPE. Don't talk to me about 50' vs. 30'.
  14. Picked up my copy from Second Ascent after work. The date is 2000. They have been floating around either in retail limbo or in some warehouse: they are new but not shiny-fresh new; they have been handled and moved around some. The $29.95 price tag on mine was applied over an earlier tag that I couldn't read so maybe S.A. got them as old unsold stock from another retailer. They have about a dozen copies on the shelf. I hope this isn't a push to get rid of old stock just before they come out with a new edition. I'll be pretty pissed to have paid new retail under those circumstances. Last night I looked it up on amazon.com. There's a seller with a new copy for $100 and two sellers with used copies at $180.
  15. I meant my picture is spray.
  16. As soon as he clears quarantine, here's my new crag buddy (the one on the 3/8" chain): (I guess now it's spray)
  17. Yeah, I did Ingalls on Labor Day last year. I expected huge crowds but the only people we ever saw were a couple women coming out after they did Stuart N Ridge. It was like any other Monday. Sweet.
  18. You're not missing much. It's going to rain all week here. Maybe a dry day Thursday but Index will still be wet.
  19. There is an ambiguous reference on the stanford.edu site about a "2008 sighting of copies of Sky Valley Rock at REI in Seattle."
  20. Why do some people insist on advertising the fact that certain crags are empty (e.g. Peshastin Pinnacles and Index). Do you really want to see more people???? Do you really want to be around more climbers??? {Why?????????} Keep it to yourself and hope the trend continues! I'm so sorry! I forgot Index was a secret that hardly anyone knew about! You're right, if I hadn't made that post Index would never have crowds.
  21. Thanks for the info!
  22. Anyone have an old copy of Cramer's Sky Valley Rock? Supposedly there is a 2008 edition but I'm not finding it anywhere.
