Previously, you would see pictures of the various emoticons to add to your message before submitting. I like the streamlined effect, but I also don't know all of the text abreviations for them. Anyway to find a comprimise? Overall, I like the updates
  10. I always make sure to wash my hands really well before I leave the rock gym. Everytime I don't, I seem to get sick.

Do you search through the YouTube videos and search for things with the least number of stars and then post them?

  14. I would hate to be up there in the rain.
  15. For all of these watches, the altimeter is only going to be accurate if you set it to a know altitude before using it. Most of these watches come with many features whether you want them or not. I have a Highgear Axis. It comes with compass, altimeter, barometer, thermometer, etc. The altimeter is nice, fairly accrate, and give you a nice little picture to show your ascent/descent, max altitude, total gain/lost etc. The compass feature is useless. I do find that the barometric pressure is nice to watch, as the watch correlates this to the weather (picture of the sun, clouds, rain, partly cloudy). I have found it to be an additional tool when staying out for a couple days. The thermometer is useless on your wrist, but I like to hang it in the tent to know just how cold it is before heading out. It lets me know what I should wear when starting out. There are also the basics, time, stopwatch, and alarms. I have not had any problems with battery life (first one lasted about 2 years). The only downside to the watch is that its very large. On the positive side, this means it can double as a dinner plate

I like the site in general. Lots of cool new features (now other people can post video, not just Oly however I do like seeing the entire line colored for when a post is read and not. Good job timmay!
  17. I did the Lemosho route which starts on the far west side of the mountain and eventually meets up with the Macheme route. You are away from the crowds most of the time, and it gives you a few more days to acclimitize as well as take in the views.

  21. Flying solo tonight and I thought it might be nice to finally meet a few of the CC people (I seem to miss every pubclub). Starts at 8, thought about grabbing a couple beers and maybe some food before the slide show.
  22. From Wikipedia: "Satriani also began teaching guitar, with his most notable student, at this time, being fellow Long Island native Steve Vai. In 1978 Satriani moved to Berkeley, California to pursue a music career. Not long after his arrival he resumed teaching. His most notable California students included: Kirk Hammett (Metallica), David Bryson (Counting Crows), Kevin Cadogan (Third Eye Blind), Larry LaLonde (Primus), Alex Skolnick (Testament), Phil Kettner (Laaz Rockit) and Charlie Hunter." No mention of Eddie...
  23. Anyone want to meet a little early and grab some beers?
  24. What about Victor Wooten? He runs circles around every other bass player mentioned so far.
