what i could see of the ice looked good, but i spent alot of time trying to keep the shit out of my eyes.

we went up to cooper spur sunday morning to try to get some ice climbin in on the eliot. as soon as we broke the tree line i knew it wasnt going to be fun. i would bet the gusts were at least 50mph. i weigh 200lbs and with a 50 pound pack on when it would blow it was all i could do to stay standing. the further up we went the worse it got until finially my better half took a pretty good digger and i got smacked in the face with my helmet that was hanging on my pack, we decided to head to full sail for some pints. i hope the road stays open for a little while longer, i would like to get back up there again before the snow starts.

i bought a used down sleeping bag and i want to wash it. its got kind of a funky smell to it. i thought about throwing a dryell sheet with it in the dryer for a while to get rid of the smell. but if im gonna go through all that hassel i might as well just wash it. anyone have any tips on how not to wreck it. its a marmot pinacle, so i kind of wanna keep it. thanks

i've got a helium. at 1lb 6 oz and a 30 degree temp rating i think its pretty ture to the rating. i have taken it down to about 23ish, and stayed fairly warm. i think the higher quality the more true the temp rating is. the new rei kilo plus and sub kilo have a higher quality down than they ever have. plus with the new pertex shell they dont look all that bad, i have an older sub kilo and its ok. prolly not up to its rating, but not bad for $220. the new one looks to be a little better.

the skyledge is super small. im 6 foot and i cant lay out without my feet and head pusing the walls into the fly. it looks cool but i was bummed to see how small it is

i got to play with one when the rep was in last time. let me just say the pack is fawking sweet! all welded design, roll top closure, and a hip belt that pivots. i cant wait to get my hands on one. but....... they arent going to be avaliable until mid april. and there will be no deals for those of us that work in a gear shop. they are a little heavy, but with their gear i think its worth the extra weight!!

i just saw that he was going to be in portland in april. what the fuck has this world come to
