  1. Linky no worky.
  2. Was that Cecil Rhode Mountain that you climbed? If so, did you venture all the way to the southeast summit (Peak 4576)? I'm interested in that ridge. How difficult was it?
  3. I've worked in Dutch as an environmental engineer - mostly property-transfer deals and pollution prevention and the like. Did some tail end work on the removal of the catapult fuel storage system in the middle of the taxiway in 1997 or 1998. The USGS charts do mention Pyramid, Newhall, Ballyhoo, and Makushin, but not many other names. I'll try contacting Jeff.
  4. Sepultra, I've spent some time in Dutch, too, but I don't recall hearing the names Ravensnest, Wood, or Ski Bowl. Where are those peaks? I have the USGS map of the area, so I might be able to determine the location of a peak if you were to specify the elevation. I've never heard of anything in the Shaler Mountains being climbed or skied. Do you know of any climbs in that area? My cousins climbed Makushin Volcano, but I've been too focused on working when I've been down that way.
  5. What peaks on Unalaska Island did you climb?
  6. Where did you start your ski approach? Did you go from Culross Passage to the island's 2500-foot highpoint?
  7. Could you provide more specific locations for Mount Suzanne and Silly Wizard Peak? I tried to follow on the map where you went, but my map ends at the Alaska-British Columbia border. Are these two peaks in BC? Wes

    Mt. Redoubt Erupts

Too soon to tell, but make certain you dig below the ash layer when you obtain snow for melting.
  10. Haines Junction and Destruction Bay are in Canada. You might try posting in the Canada section.
  11. Actually, Vin Hoeman climbed Mount McKinley in August in the late 1960s, so he has the latest summer ascent. However, significant warming has occurred since that time and you will have a tough time finding an aircraft to land on the Kahiltna Glacier after early July.
  12. Daniel, can you provide any more information on your friend Charlie's climb of L V Ray or other peaks in the area? And what time of year was your 2001 climb? I'd like to hear more about the FAs of the Moose Pass area.
  13. Seems to me that there could be some decent route info in there someplace, but all the spray has decreased the value of the thread. Like one of the other posters said, try re-posting only the useful stuff without the spray garbage - I know, it can be tough to restrain yourself - and I bet the readers of AMF will appreciate it. Who knows, it might not even get edited away. Wes
