  1. dude... no, not "have to", you chose a job and a house that are opposite sides of a lake from one another.
  2. I thought there was some kind of bergschrund up there? How do you negotiate that in tennies?
  3. haha gross.
  4. I'm not sure I understand where you two stand on this topic. Could you please reiterate your respective viewpoints? Jesus, it's a tardalanche in here. Is this something seasonal that happens every September?
  5. Is this what climbers look like on the east coast?
  6. Weird, I thought the whole point of youtube was to violate copyright...
  7. man nice bowel movement chestbeat
  8. Why are people such weiners? When presented with the options: a) Try to address a problem in person, when it can be solved OR b) Wait through several hours of frustration and then going home and bitching using the anonymity of the internet Why go the weiner route? Say no to passive aggression, kids. I'm just glad Johnson didn't beat the shit out of those guys at the top of the wall, that dude is a BEAST.
  9. Yeah, putting wires on a wiregate is a good way to lose 'em. I also started getting frustrated recently with normal hooked 'biners catching on my gear sling, so I started racking only with keylock 'biners. I'd rather carry more weight than deal with that hook. I think maybe the ultimate racking 'biner would be a wire keylocker, like the Wild Country Helium.
  10. WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO THIS WEEKEND
  11. ... choose pepto over poop tube.
  12. bad nettiquette || good spray
  13. Hey "Fahrenheit 411", that sounds like something that exists.
  14. Yeah. Like not walking under ladders and being afraid of black cats. Lots of things are counterintuitive. How can you say there is any safety advantage to your way? Just because it looks like it? Honestly I can't even tell what the hell you guys are talking about. Stiff quickdraws in bolts? Floppy draws in trad gear? ROTATE THE TOP SIDE LEFTWISE!
  15. is that a mountaineer brake? like a carabiner brake only fatter?
  16. That's not going to be productive either, but at least it's timely!
  17. Lots of people have spent lots of time killing lots of other people. It's not very productive to finger-point at past hipocrisy.
  18. I'm pretty sure your wife is a girl. CONGRATS, you're not gay after all But ready for marriage, straight from the womb?
  19. I'm aware of the issue you are talking about, this is a different point. From the article to which I linked:
  20. I was reading something today that said the webbing in daisy chains is weakened where the bartacks blow... here, about halfway down, "Re: Belay anchors: why not use daisy chains?". I don't know whether this would be relevant for screamers, but I guess even if it is, you're not worse off than if the screamer deployed all the way at once... I'd guess the screamer is still plenty good for absorbing some force, just not as much as it was originally.
  21. Satisfy my curiosity: how did he lose the kayak?
  22. The most redneck town is the one...
  23. OMG THIS THREAD SPEAKS FOR ITSELF!!!
  24. apple sauce, apple butter included? I am just about to replace my home computer with an Apple. What has your experience been? Did you buy an Apple recently? What model? What happened? Do I sound panicky? Eh, I'm mostly just spraying. I only own an iPod Shuffle but it's been enough to piss me off... iTunes blows... I think new Apples are good, the operating system is nice from what I understand and I think you can get most software you might need for them. I think the hardware fails about as much as any other hardware but Apple won't really own up to it, I've heard and read a lot about people having trouble using their Applecare warranty, having to argue with the "geniuses" at the Apple store (the title alone bugs me) for coverage they were promised when they paid however-many-hundreds-of-dollars for the plan... Like I said, mostly spraying. Apple might be fine for you.
