  1. Following all your posts on this tread; you seem like a spoiled brat. Many therapist boat payments too....
  2. Fixed it fer ya. You two keep it up and Minx is gonna spank us all.....
  3. As for the title of the thread, I remember with great amusement the last time my dad spanked me; he ended up with a hurt hand and I was laughing my ass off. Even as a twelve year old I had a rock hard butt.
  4. It seems, from a legal perspective, that the big difference between what is abuse and what is not is what neighborhood it occurs in. No this is not a trailer park joke. Ethnicity, religion, education etc. I don't buy that spanking is abuse per se, abuse is hard to define but very easy to spot if you see it and even easier if you feel it. It's a hard balance between abuse and neglect.
  5. I sincerely hope that's a typo. It just sounds like......
  6. hey now! that's just uncalled for! i'm offended. Hey now, not aimed at you, but could be if you're the one who deleted my favorite TR of recent times. Besides, I thought you retired?
  7. You were at Smith duderooski, that's not even CLOSE to Alpine. And as for the rest of you, do the cookies start the cycle of binge and purge?
  8. Howdy all. What if any spare parts and/or tools would/do any of you bring on longish (week or more) tours? Thanks!
  9. Try Larry at Mountain Tools.
  10. Probably a good reminder to delay plans when things are looking scary, was heading into the Wind River Range yesterday but 2 to 4 feet of snow and 40+ mph winds are keeping me here. I would add that another risk in avy country in such conditions is that one often cannot see what one is beneath. You might be on perfectly flat terrain and still get killed, as has happened here in Wyo several times in the last few years.
  11. A quote from Bob Morris: "I did a small amount of Web-based research." What's the problem here? Many CCers do no research at all, if that vaccine thread has anything to teach us. Sheesh, at least the guy tried. I am more concerned that in all that door to door cookie selling we are exposing young girls to many members of this forum--which is full of self avowed anarchists and socialists and even worse stick clipping sport climbers--judging from the number of you all who like cookies.
  12. And Van Halen.
  13. Hey, think you have the wrong 4:20 there, for most folks it's the PM version that is "tea time."
  14. No, we're trying to explain the difference between whining and doing your part. Not to make a corn Y remark, but seems like most of the folks I know here @ CC are very generous people.
  15. Glass! Thank f*ck for Yoda! No spam on Degobah.
  16. Keyser Söze Dude, he's a Turk! Can't even run, would make for a great birther thread tho...... Did I mention he's a Turk?
  17. I like bitching about spelling.
  18. What? Create a new user profile so I can post my YouTube video? No.
  19. Yeah the funny part is that would actually be very good for lawyers. As corporations would no longer be barred from doing stupid things, people WOULD get hurt, and lawsuits would fly. Not sure which is worse--regulators or litigators--but I do know who costs a company more money!
  20. Hey! Didn't the GOP, I mean Tea Party, defend paying Wall Street and Corporate types their bonuses and golden parachutes when they not only left the "losers" but were in fact the ones who drove them into the ground because in a capitalist system we honor our contracts. So how do you justify rescuing these rich bastards "at the expense of my taxes" while giving the finger to everyone who worked their entire life for a company to get a pension so they don't end up on the street in their old age? Did that slip your mind? We helped Detroit and an entire generation of retirees still has what they worked for--after all isn't capitalism also about rewarding hard work? Not to mention the hundreds of thousands who still have auto industry and related jobs? Good government policy means stepping in where possible to avert the collapse of a sector of the economy that can be avoided. Bad decision making by a few overcompensated snob retard executives and board members does not justify throwing everybody else whose hard work actually produced the product/service under the bus.
  21. What does that mean? 1 in 8 summiteers die? Guess it'd have be on the way down.
  22. She died in a bathtub. Well it's not THAT bad, could be worse. We just had a fellow here who killed himself by head on collision with a Honey Bucket.
  23. One thing we haven't really acknowledged here is the risk to OTHERS especially those who come to the rescue. Just had a SAR fatality here in Wyo. when a helicopter crashed during a rescue for a snowmoblower who, it turned out, was also a fatality. Another good example has to be the famous Art Gilkey rescue attempt on K2 where the entire party was willing to attempt a rescue even though that meant they all would most likely die and in fact they did almost die. Often lost in that was that a party of two roped climbers would have died had their rope not become entangled.
  24. No, because I understand statistics. Don't be a weenie [dog]! A beautiful woman is a good enough reason to gamble. Seems to be true of climbing too, remember some folks (including me) really sticking necks out on R/X and hormones seem an inducement.
