  1. Was walking out to beacon as that guy was being piggybacked out the park. Not sure how you can take a long enough fall on Jill's to hurt your ankle that bad. The gear at the crux is incredibly good. You can almost top-rope the last moves.
  2. And I don't recommend shoe goo cause I remember this one time my awesomely-endowed midget lover orangutan left sneaker marks all over the back deck.
  3. Thank you for including graph paper in the photo so we can see the scale.
  4. ivan - I have not done riverside - looks interesting for sure. Windsurfer has big breaks like every 20 feet, it's like 3 climbs. Blownout has few breaks. I'm sure free for some can seem easy when you climb it a million times and have that digit move dialed in, but I think it's an intimidating lead as you can get hurt if you blow it.
  5. windsurfer is 10a. that's my opinion.
  6. Don't you mean it hurts your brain? They do use big words sometimes.
  7. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE
  8. please think of Joe the Plumber the children

    The Debate

P.S. reading a kevbone post is as fun as a dickpunch
  10. you wouldn't catch joe the plumber up there with those maniacs i bet they didn't wash their hands after taking a dump either
  11. OMG GARY I BET HE DOESN'T EVEN KNOW PI TO THE 6TH DIGIT WHAT A RETARD
  12. stop being a dumbass kevin
  13. they must have dug deep into their 80s shitrock collection for that last song.
  14. There are still skiable stretches of the west rib, but you'd have to _really_ want it as of july 6th, and with this weather, it's probably already gone. Much of the PCT above Pamelia is snow-free. Shale lake, hunts, coyote, all remain snow covered. Southwest ridge to red saddle is snow-free. Traverse from red saddle around pinnacle is all snow, slightly runneled, with few tracks.
  15. haha nope, certainly not posting much. If you want to get an idea on what's going on inside the nest: http://watch.birds.cornell.edu/nestcams/camera/view?cameraID=C100016 Owls are cool.
  16. That nest will be re-used. Those guys are very common everywhere.
  17. I gotta get one of these Crap Cannon
  18. I don't know why I accept these low-budget scripts
  19. skinning into a belay session... that's what it's all about.
  20. Time for a little cross-site posting:
  21. Sorry I was suggesting it was a slog if you were on foot. If you are on skis and take a high traverse from tie-in rock, the newton-clark is a cakewalk. The trick is finding somewhere to drop through white river and back up on the palmer w/o spending too much time rock scrambling. I agree with rbw that the crux of this journey can be in the coe area depending on conditions. More of a mountaineering venture than a ski trip, but very worthwhile.
  22. This is usually done with skis for a good time. I wouldn't sweat the area above MHM. There are a few cracks here and there but if you stay high it is a long slog. Then you have to pick your way through White River. There are some big cracks opening up there, but avoidable if you keep your attention. The streams are almost certainly raging, but you won't see a single one of them at your elevation. You can go low around Yocum and up over the Ladd, then gain elevation on Snowdome to cross the Eliot on the high bench below the n. face. I find skis make crossing these glaciers a lot more fun and safer, but it sounds like you might make a good adventure of it w/o them.
