This route is the last to go on this wall and not that obvious, so it would have to have been someone familar with the area. I feel anyone who was on the wall would have seen that it had been cleaned. Huge boulders had been kicked off and he had used a broom and a brush to clean it well. It would have been obvious to route setters that someone had been there before. route bandits is right.....

On Friday May 1st I was at the zone with friends. I watched martins dad lowering off on a single line cleaning the rock to the left of Route 66. He spend multiple days cleaning this, trundling....etc.... On one of those days, some other climbers talked to him a bit from the ground and saw what he was doing. I was at the zone today 5/11 and he was rapping into this new route to place a few bolts and low and behold someone has ganked his route and bolted the shit out of it already. You know who you are. What a crock and complete disrespect for those who came before you. If there was ever a need to chop.....

I agree. I has gotten worse. My question is.....are they going to put up "no camping" signs out in the field and up the road? This is bullshit. Maybe if if was like Jtree 10 years ago. $10 a week.... and with running water and flush toilets.

Oh my....I agree with Scott. The powers that be are way over hyping this. It is just a regular flu that some unfortunate folks in Mexico that did not have access to treatment died from.

On-line tick-list? Sounds like an excuse for competitive grand-standing and schlang-measuring. Here's some ideas: a) memory....have you really done so many climbs that you can't remember which? ("Was it Rainier or Denali.....I often get the two confused...they both have snow on them.) Get some of that ginko whatever that helps you remember things. b) pencil and paper. works like a charm. Maybe a dedicated notebook or new fangled software program. c) trip report. Share the chest-beating in such a way that others can decide if they want to repeat the experience. OMG.....I agree with Don.
