  1. So? Potato with an "e" and confirm with a "k." I get it. This should be in spray anyway.
  2. I haven't seen the picture yet, but I have studied the crater walls and am wondering how you could simply make a few turns and then turn around. I'm thinking you're pretty committed once you take the plunge. But maybe I'm wrong.
  3. It's only misleading if your mind is in the gutter! Welcome to the ditch!
  4. You're right, it looks VERY thin in spots. Very nice work.
  5. That must have been one big bird!
  6. The perspective seems right, but what's below them...how much of a drop? If it's very much then I would agree.

    Free Solo 5.7

    This is awesome.
  8. This should be in Spray. But since your throwin' down. Oregon is going to kick your fucking ass...BITCH.
  9. No Shit. Thanks Ivan.
  10. Awesome! I don't know how I missed this thread over the last few weeks, but I am way down with the Hood thing. That is right up my ally. The DT night looks very tasty too! NOLSe, I'll PM you.
  11. Is that really true? Is it that they'll pop out under stress or that there just simply isn't enough support. You have me kind of bummed now. I was planning on using my Verticals with a Rando setup of Naxo01 and some Shuksans. I realize I'm not going to get anything near the performance of an AT boot, but I was assuming they'd at least work on some acceptable level.

    Too Many Kids!

Hey, I can appreciate a child. But this is just too many fucking kids! Arkansas no less...I bet they have trouble remembering their names: "including two sets of twins, and each child has a name beginning with the letter "J": Joshua, 17; John David, 15; Janna, 15; Jill, 14; Jessa, 12; Jinger, 11; Joseph, 10; Josiah, 9; Joy-Anna, 8; Jeremiah, 6; Jedidiah, 6; Jason, 5; James, 4; Justin, 2; and Jackson Levi, 1."
  13. After reading several of Greg's entertaining posts and TR, I would say that there is a high likelyhood that he broke it during one of his evenings at a high bivy...
  14. Great info fellas. Thanks!
  15. So, I've been using the same pair of sunglasses forever. Random brands...you name it. Before that I used several different pair of vintage Vuarnet. Great sunglasses by the way. And looking at their website, it seems they still have a significant presence, albeit mostly in Europe. I'm looking very seriously at Julbo. Specifically, either the Micropores or the Atlas...possibly the Drus. (Hey Dru ) For a good set of glasses, primarily used for alpine with potentially long periods of exposure on snow, what do you guys like? I realize there are a ton out there to choose from. I've looked at Smith, Oakley and a few of the other incumbents, but I keep coming back to Julbos. Thoughts? Thanks!
  16. Repost this here, you're likely to get all the partners you want.
  17. Thanks SWR! I had this tonight! Good call.
  18. Gavin, you're great guy. Your knowledge and help has been invaluable over the years. Thanks!
  19. Thanks for the heads up Breezy. Man, it makes you wonder when someone has a sale for 70% off something, who were the poor bastards ( ) that paid full price?
  20. I think CC was referring CBS's comment about the rosy cheeks.
  21. No shit. When I went through, the guy only cared about the fruit. The open bottle of Crown between my legs seemed to be A-OK!
  22. Brilliant!
  23. Good point. After having several glasses of scotch and then re-reading what I wrote, I realized that I hadn't completely considered the solo thing. Greg...I love your prose. You speak my language!

    Grizzly Attack!

Lucky bastards! Story A grizzly bear attacked two hikers in Yellowstone National Park, but the men escaped serious injury, the National Park Service said Thursday. Pat McDonald, 52, of Bismarck, N.D., and Gerald Holzer, 51, of Northfield, Minn., were hiking on a trail near Shoshone Lake in the park's southern section Wednesday when they noticed fresh bear scat, officials said in a written statement. They decided to continue, but were charged by a grizzly bear "at full stride" about a quarter-mile further along the trail, the release said. Holzer, who was in front, sidestepped the bear. McDonald stepped behind some trees and dropped to the ground, officials said. The bear ran past him, but returned and swatted at him, then turned to Holzer, who had dropped to the ground and was lying on his stomach. The bear jumped on Holzer's back, swatted at him, then retreated briefly. During that time, McDonald retrieved the bear spray strapped to his waist and doused the bear in the face when it returned and starting biting his leg. The bear then ran off, officials said. The two men hiked 4 miles to the trailhead and drove to the clinic at Old Faithful for treatment. McDonald suffered a puncture wound to his leg. Holzer was not injured, and officials said his backpack protected him during the attack.
