    The War

I watched this tonight with my almost 12-year old son. What a powerful film. The men that went to war and fought were amazing and deserve the utmost respect and honor. I feel equally about the men and women serving this country today.
  3. $3 might be the suggested donation, but the evening is worth a lot more than that. It's going to be awesome! Give as much as you can!

    How do they define sex?
  5. Sorel's haven't quite been the same since Columbia bought them.
  6. Interesting.
  7. On a related note, The War is going to be on PBS Sunday night. This should be an excellent film. Link to The War main page. 26 Minute Video
  8. Very nice!
  9. Would you rather be you or him who has $2 million to defend himself?

  11. Not so good news for Landis.
  12. Perhaps the white rebel rousers need to start heeding Chris Rock's advice: 9gCCjFbFXn8
  13. Excellent. Great message for sure. My son has an aversion to "team sports" because several of his friends growing up were involved and hated it. They liked the sport, but loathed the official games. From the coaches to the parents, I think we've lost it somewhere along the way. There seems to be a complete disconnect however when it comes to academics. This notion of not using grades, or god forbid a red pen when correcting papers, for fear of damaging their self-esteem is absolutely nuts. It does nothing to prepare them for when they get into the real world. Maybe these two worlds needs to mesh a little more and come to a nice even balance.

  15. I prefer the one on the left.
  16. That's almost unbearable.
  17. Did he give any warning like, "I[-ruff], feel like[-ruff], I'm[-ruff], going to[-ruff-ruff-ruff-gurgle-ruff], [ralph][-ruff], shit the center console mom! [ruff-ruff-SPLEETCHHH]!!"
  18. Delicious!
  19. How was it?
  20. I considered that one. But in full evaluation of what I ACTUALLY do most often, M10...Vasak...M10...Vasak. I want the Sarkens, but I chose the Vasaks. As my father once reminded me years ago, "we used to do steep routes [in the NW] with little more than a modified cork-boot. Whatever is out there, I'm sure will work fine for you."
  21. Welcome Home Oly
  22. In retrospect, I would have kept them. If I get another pair, fine. I honestly don't care. These have been working just fine and I have no reason to think they wouldn't have lasted for years. I'm never about taking advantage of anyone. Free crampons or not. Frankly the recall, though noble for Petzl, in some respects wasn't necessary. It wasn't about failure, it was about wearing out more quickly than anticipated. The warning to stop using them immediately, wasn't necessary. I'll let you guys know how it ends up.
